Hi all, if you’d like to introduce yourself, this is the place to do it!

I’m Phil, but I go by Haelo on here and NaNo – let’s face it, there are plenty of Phils!

I’m an Aussie but I live in the US with my wife, my two young boys, and my older stepson when he’s home. I go into writing when in primary school (equivalent to elementary in the US), but even moreso in high school, although I suppose it has always been about creation for me – the form of expressing that creativity has just varied, from game design to writing to web design to drawing to programming.

I found NaNo last year (2009), and managed to win the first time through, completing just over 50K of my novel Clockwork. As I tend to do, I then set it aside and focused on other things, despite my best intentions to finish, although admittedly there were other things that needed the attention. I am now restructuring my life so that I can make sure I fit that creativity in, as well as everything that is a requirement for just being alive (and a parent, and a husband, and so on).

Oneword is part of that plan – it’s a way, for me, of making sure I get writing in somewhere. Sure, it can’t be the only thing that gets done, but it’s a quick and simple reminder of what I want to achieve, and a regular mini-exercise for my writing skills.

Heyy. Call me Madeline, cos it’s not my real name, but since you’re going to stalk me I firgure it’s safe that way. ^_^ I’m 16 and in year 11 being homeschooled.

My main hobbie right now is my dance. I do ballet (for 3 years, on pointe now for thoses of whom it matters to) and contempary (first year). But before that I did jazz (for like 6 years, then I stopped this year).

I found NaNo in 2006, failed that year, failed in 2007, then won in 2008, decided dance exams where more important then it in 2009 and don’t know if I’m doing it this year. But it has a speacial place in my heart anyway.

Oh and oneword. I was linked to it a few years back, then found a file with one paragraph written in oneword. I was going to start a story with it till I forgot. So I’m back to finish it. Plus I don’t do that much writing, I want something to remind me of a past time.

Thats me in a nutshell. Bubye!

Hey! Call me Seraphina or Gemini or Melody. I go by many names and respond to them all, even amongst my friends.
I joined NaNo in 09 and got to about 20 thousand words when my flash drive was stolen. This year though, I’m going to try again and can’t WAIT for November.
I love oneword because my thoughts are sometimes all over the place but it’s a fun challenge to try and match to word to somewhere in my story.

Flash drive stolen – eeek! Well I hope you can get through this year without another disaster like that!

Thanks! I really miss that flash drive. I had it plugged into a school computer during lunch, went to turn in a book at the first book and when I came back, the drive was gone and the last draft I had saved elsewhere was about 10k less.
This year, I’m saving my story EVERYWHERE.

Hey, my name is Sakiko. I am new to this site but I already love the idea behind it and the people seem really great. I won’t tell too much about myself but that I am an artist who lives in Europe.
I love writing, drawing, acting, singing… anything where I can show my colors. :)
    Hello to everyone!

Hi! I won’t tell you my real name- Catorrina or Cat works fine. I’m fifteen years old, and I love writing, drawing, reading until my eyes melt, woodcarving, (insert every other hobby you can think of here), and keeping myself busy to the point of insanity. I’m a starting writer, and am hoping to work as a journalist for a teen paper next year. I’ve hardly heard of NaNo, but considering it’s good reputation, I’ll probably look into it.

Interesting bios, thanks for posting people! Glad to see our young writers are keeping control of their privacy – I’ll be teaching my 2 boys the same when they’re old enough to go online!

Hi, I’m Mairead. It’s my real name, but surprisingly enough a few people have it. Anywho, I’m 17, I love to write, and I did NaNoWriMo for the first time last year. It was sort of special since I also managed to have two plays going on at the same time and then sprain my ankle on top of it! However, I managed to pull through and actually made 50K. I have trouble pulling myself through writing when I don’t have a huge deadline but I like oneword on account of it being quick, dirty, and fun.

I’m Abbie. I’m 22 years old, traveling at the time, hopelessly lost in the moment. Morocco today (and for the past few months), Spain tomorrow and Ireland later this week. Then back to home in Indiana where I begin the daunting task of attempting the “real world” of life after college. Writing is my passion, escape, and focus. My strength lies in the understanding of the harsh reality that there’s no money in it. Still, I dream of my name on a Top Seller’s List, and just as every good dreamer does, I will always work to achieve that dream. One day I will do nothing but my passion, escape, and focus for a living. I promise.

Hey, my names Stacey and I’m so glad I stumbled on this place!

Glad because I’ve suffered from anxiety for about seven years now and my confidence in my writing kind of took a beating to the point I just didn’t write because I didn’t think I was any good.

It was only a couple of months ago I went to my Doctor and started taking medication for it. Ever since then I have become a completely new person and my confidence in my writing is slowly coming back – as is my enjoyment of literature! S

So what I’m trying to say is that you guys all seem pretty cool and this oneword thing is just what I need to get back into writing. I’ve always loved writing, and luckily it’s something I’m good at (or so I’ve been told!)..

Currently a web design student but deep down writing is always going to be what I love the most, looking forward to reading the things on here :)

    xx

Hello all, I’m Jacob. 18, going to university to do maths in about 2 weeks. I love writing, and I want to participate in NaNo in the future, but I need a way to get the juices flowing, as it were…

    … so here I am. :)

I love experimenting with writing. I’ve had a crack at NaNo before (I didn’t even come close to finishing) and I started a webcomic earlier this year. I just wanted to add Oneword to that list!
