• Oops just realised I changed the word by accident! Amended version:

    It curdles the heart
    The perfect selves so cruelly
    Unattainable

    New word: Methodical

  • Hello, I’ve done numerous art projects but I tend to do more doodling or sketching. Photography is my main interest so I do a lot of that and it is interesting to manipulate my photos now and again.

  • Been ages since I’ve been on here! Internet connection has been terrible. Anyway, here’s my latest attempt.

Shrieks of mild awareness stifle the air. Amplifying them pinpoints a society of braggarts. Something smooths out the creases, for life goes on. They should have noticed cobwebs reclining past the cracks.

It’s been ages since I’ve been on here! Had a holiday & came back to abysmal internet connection…

I like partial hibernation. This is mostly because I like sleep and food and partial hibernation ensures I get plenty of both… Which is why I like talking or writing about it – I get to discuss two of my favourite topics at the same time! Humans should be allowed to take partial hibernation – like a holiday but better.

  • PROMPT #13

She frowned, puzzled, at her shiny, gold nameplate. Something wasn’t right. There was only one ’l’ in Melanie, unlike the last time. Even an idiot knows how to spell the words ’south’ and ’way’ and there was no unseemly gap between the words. Ah, a speck of dust in the bottom-right corner. Melanie delicately slid on her special peppermint-scented cleaning gloves and wiped it hurriedly off. She smiled in satisfied relief as she thrust the gloves away from her into the bin and slipped another pair in her pocket.
Melanie turned to the mirror beside her desk and checked her hairpins were all in place with her brown waves smooth and secured. Now she could get on with her work with relative peace of mind. All was well. Until lunchtime.

    • I wonder if peppermint gloves actually exist? I’m sure there’s a million clean freaks out there that will pay hard cash for a product like that. Maybe that’s how you’re going to make your bilions? ;)

I love snippets and mind maps! They can be so useful, I always go off on numerous tangents which can actually be quite useful. People-watching can spark something off too.

They marched around the square, faces resolute. She watched closely, fiddling with the ribbon on her dress. It fell, limp and creased, from her shaking hands as the horns blared with indignation. Across the street, Mrs Larsby’s oversized peacock feathers quivered beside vibrant silk as she attempted to contain herself.

  • Megan, have a little more confidence (not always easy, I know). That was great! I need to write another one of these sometime but my creativity’s buffering right now :( hopefully not for too long.

  • No, absolutely not. Voting and getting involved in politics should always be up to the individual. My family and I choose not to vote or get involved in politics due to our religious beliefs based solely on the Bible. There are also other reasons someone may choose not to vote and that is their prerogative – after all it’s their vote, if they decide to not use it, well, that’s up to them.

  • You’ve probably already blogged about this but Sudoku is amazing when you’re bored (warning: it is incredibly addictive).
Below is a link on how to play Clock Patience (or Queen’s Clock as I’ve also known it as). This is a great game when you’re on your own.

Also have you suggested blogging and using writing prompts? Hope this helps!

  • Something stings and I shrivel up inside. They used to tell me it was common sense but I wouldn’t say a word. Heaps slide off each other, scattering straw on the ground. Pre-formed rubbish strewn across the way. Bracken and heather will find their path home.

I hate it when people twist logic for their own ends – just so they get their preferred results. Life’s not like that; get used to it! You can’t get your own way and ignore the truth forever because one day that monster snowball will roll back and give you frostbite.

She stares. Someone has to. They can’t function well on their own, silly little things. Granted, it gets boring after a while. You can only correct the same mistakes for so long before you wish for some original imperfection.
However, if there’s one thing she’s known for, it’s never shirking her responsibilities. Even if they’re self-appointed ones.
He wishes he was her responsibility. She is so diligent. Too diligent in his view. If she turned, just slightly, she’d see him. Yet, on she observes, the same ones. No variations and he carries on unnoticed as usual. Granted, what we’re looking for is sometimes staring us in the face. What about the times it’s not?

Love the word stupendous, people sometimes ask me if it’s slang but it’s actually quite an old word.
