I heard and saw the hooded figures standing on each side of the Sybil. Who they were or what they were was not apparent, only that they guarded the mouth, the oracle, the mouthpiece of beyond. Then I began to quiver….

I saw the cars rip around the bend in front of me.. I pushed in clutch and tapped the hand break as I drifted around the corner. The asphalt roared, and as the clutch shifted back in I floored the accelerator, diving down the straight-away….

He with concern saw the fast movement as the car in front of him drifted lanes, the back bumper of the car, knocked the front wheel of the motor cycle in a flash. He felt it move than…

I saw the faint shroud blocking my sight and struggled to strain my eyes, to peer forward; Off in the horizon I saw her.
Her faint billowing features, her lithe Grey form rising in twirling maw, the lady….

I see the light piercing the shuttered window all around . As I scried the room an old traditional office like of those from a noir movie, I waited for another, in the lobby, in the dull haze.

I saw the light creep over the horizon, I didn’t want to rise.
I saw the amber tip of dawn rising out my window in bed, it was already too late. I would rise, I would face the day, the course was already set.
I rose.

He felt the cracking in his ribs as the beast bit, the primordial demon, some monster from beyond, its yellow gleaming teeth tearing out. He screamed as he felt his entrails spilt as the creature began to feed,

The man looked around the park and glanced the pond, the mother duck led her ducklings under some brush next to the shore as the rain started to fall. It reminded him how he was alone in his own storms.

I looked around the broken, wind slept landscape and at the mesas flanking my sides, I saw the soul of the west.
behind me my partner, my associate a cowboy out of time, rode on a painted horse, enjoying the scenery under the bleaching Colorado sun.

I saw the equation and knew from the model, the half-life. I knew the correlations and I knew the odds so I knew it would happen with almost certainty. But certainty and it happening are different.
Assuming it will happen and it happening even 9999/10000 are not certain.

I saw the woman looking down into the book, her hair draped over her face hiding any expression. I realized she was like like me, a dreamer, a seeker , a reader. I glanced to see the book she read but could not see the title. Some novel I guessed based on the style.

I saw the assorted figures and equations in the damn table, exact absolute infinite approximations, nuances of reality.
Breaking the world down by infinity and zero, as Laplace and Fourier had done….

I heard the steps behind me and I kept going, I looked in the reflection of the windows on the side of the street beside me. There was no one, but the steps continued.
I turned around and the footsteps ended.

As I saw the spent shell casing on the ground, I knew it had been a set up, they were too ready, too prepared, we were being used.
That made the loss of a friend that much worse… we were simple props….

I felt my body wear thin, the jittery buzz of the caffeine and sleep deprivation, I don’t need to put up with this crap.
My patience wore thin just like the thin ice under our feet.

Consider writing about personal or individual obsolescence.
Consider the skills you were taught in school particularly, technologically oriented.
Were you taught cursive? Do you still see cursive being used?
Did you learn MS.DOS to use a computer? Do you still use it?
I study engineering and I know all the software I learned to use in school will be replaced within 5 years.
People and their skill sets become obsolete quickly, this could be a decent topic for research.
In reply to - abra posted an update: WHAT SHOULD I WRITE MY RESEARCH PAPER ON? i don’t want to write about something that someone else is writing about. I don’t want to bore my teacher while he is reading and I certainly don’t want to bore myself while I am writing it. I don’t want to pick a topic that is ’hot’ right now. I’d rather just stay away. I want to pick something light hearted. Research on vitamins. Why people don’t take vitamins. Is the gulf still getting cleaned? is the world going to end in 2012? is my laptop going to last me 10 years? how old is old? • View -
ben wrote about the word schedule 2 years, 8 months ago
I saw the time fly, but it had no meaning… I have no schedule to my pacing or this madness.
I am my own man, I answer to no one and so I set my own pace mostly and let the hours and days fall as they will.
