Fluorescent light-bulbs aren’t enough. Using them isn’t going to save our planet, but it is a step in the right direction.

It’s actually a wonderful feeling, being someplace foreign. Exciting. You don’t know anyone and they most certainly do not know you. Language? Bring on the barrior. Directions? Who needs them.

I feel as if it takes a certain kind of person to enjoy whiskey and that being said I have never had any before.

The time is digital. I really dislike this word. It has to do more with math than anything else, and that’s truly not my cup of tea.

Wander. A six letter word. Synonyms: meander, saunter, potter, rove, roam, drift, mosey, tootle, drift, and amble. It all pretty much means the same thing: to walk aimlessly and to feel the freedom of that lonely cloud.

    Dear English,

You’re a wonderful major. Recently though, I’ve wondered if studying you is futile. Honestly, I don’t need college to read literature. This isn’t what worries me the most, because who are we kidding? I will stick with you to the very end. What worries me is what I will do with you. Teaching? Not my thing. Publishing? Maybe. Stuck is my parents basement with a great knowledge of Shakespeare and Plath? Most likely. What I would like from you English, is a sign that I’m heading in the right direction.

    Always yours,

    Dacota

    • Followed your path into the groups – hadn’t sussed it before- thank you!
Do you wish to build a narrative as well as a resumee? English is ’about’ not ’for’.
      Go well!

  • I want a wand. I mean honestly who doesn’t? When I was 11 I most definitely waited for a letter from Hogwarts. I wanted to be best friends with Ron. Yet again, who didn’t?

  • Scarves. Scarves are whimsical. You always wonder about a person who wears scarves. Where did they get them? What’s the story behind each one? Yeah, scarves are pretty spectacular.

  • Do you want to make a statement? Do you want to make an impression? You don’t have that much time. Just a few decades to show the world who you are. Because after, who’s really going to remember you, if you don’t take a stand? If you don’t make a statement, maybe you’re not really [...]

  • Wondered. What a beautiful word. I wonder what the future will hold. I wonder who the love of my life will be. I wonder what kind of career I will have. I wonder if my children will be the light of my life. I wonder if I will be a writer, or even a publisher. [...]

  • Once upon a time there was a bee. It was a beautiful bee, with black and yellow stripes. The bee had friends, other beautiful bees. Though, as time flew by the bee felt lonely even as it was surrounded by others. The bee needed something more in its life.
