I wanted it to go. Willed it. And it did. I never had to see that damn dog again. Goodbye Pedro. I never did anything to actually make it disappear. Was just very relieved when it didn’t come back.

The bunting is still hanging from the top of the shelf. It looks forlorn and tired. Martin would pull the decorations down but he did his back in reaching for the plug socket during the Jubilee coverage.
