it was never really going to be a useful project anyway. We knew the idea had already been used, but we really wanted to make a robot dinosaur to rival all of the others. It wasn’t until it started working that we’d wished we had made a better plan in the first place–what started as [...]

  • Michelle wrote about the word motel 2 years, 8 months ago

it was grimy and dirty and all I could think looking around it was this was hardly the place to be meeting someone. I knew what it would look like when she walked in, too. The guy behind the counter could barely contain his leer when he handed me my key. I know what he [...]

Ice cream had never seemed so suspicious, but I knew they were up to no good. It hadn’t been long since the last time they tried to pull some trick, and I knew they were involved in something suspicious.

it rose higher and higher, as mist does. Floating above the crowd and blocking out the little light left in the sky.

  • Michelle commented on the blog post rustling 2 years, 9 months ago

I could hear it from the other room. The noise was quiet, but harsh, scratching across the floor like the wake of a Dickens’s ghost.

@thepaleking I geeked when I saw your user name, thought you should know.

  • Michelle wrote about the word fallen 2 years, 9 months ago

I’ve fallen out of bed, and that is exactly how I figure this day is going to go. Too early, unanticipated, and just a little painful (but not painful enough to complain about, just dull ache sort of painful). It’s not an optimistic start, but oh well.

  • Michelle wrote about the word common 2 years, 10 months ago

It’s regular, normal, boring even. If you don’t believe me, you should see it for yourself. Nothing extraordinary about it, nothing worth going to see twice. It’s simply dull.

I should be in bed, but I’m not. What now, sleep schedule? Muhahahahahahah

  • Michelle wrote about the word salute 2 years, 10 months ago

He was military, that much was for certain. Despite the lack of uniform, you could see it in the way he held himself, shoulders back and chest forward, arm curved and ever ready for a potential salute.

Without sleep, I feel my eyes growing tired.
    Without a darkness, I know I can’t sleep.
Without blinds, I can’t get darkness.
Without money I can’t get blinds.
    Without a job, I can’t get money.
When I’m tired, it’s hard to get a job.
    I am forever without.

how hilarious. The word would be wash, while the highly inconvenient man installs a towlebar in our bathroom. I wish he wasn’t here. I wish that i had the house to myself…well, not really to myself, but you get the idea. GRRRRR.

“I’m just saying,” he leaned against the doorway, “you should really consider maybe going to the gym more often.”

“Why?” I looked in the mirror at my skinny arms, “…okay.”

  • Michelle wrote about the word suit 2 years, 11 months ago

it didn’t suit her. The bright yellow dress was too tight in the wrong places, too loose in others. It was perfect, as far as I was concerned. I can’t lie, the image of her there, looking far less than adorable simply made my day. I am a bitter girl

  • Michelle wrote about the word spine 2 years, 11 months ago

spine. Ha! he had no spine. There she was, sitting across the room, awkwardly glancing over, CLEARLY encouraging him to come talk to her and still he sat there, soda in hand, staring at the table.

  • it was bright out….i could hardly believe how bright, considering it was 1 am, but oh…the stars there were nothing like the stars back home. It’s amazing how much ambient light can ruin the night sky. I had never realized how many stars there really were until that night.
