Strange memories of those few months in Ireland, some good, some wicked.

When my son was 8 and I got him to school very late one morning, his teacher yelled ”why are you so late?” He said ”I’m not late, the others were early”

    Dear You,

For me, this is dull, completely devoid of romance or passion. It’s just not working for me, yet it suits you just fine, all take and no give. I asked for so little, yet you couldn’t even give that. Let’s call it a day.

    You clearly don’t

In reply to - Obella posted an update in the group dear you…love me: Dear You, Everyone says that I’m just like you. The same hair, the same laugh, the same mischievous nature, and even your nose. I can’t remember you clearly. Just snatches of memories; a cackling laugh and the sound of rain hitting the window. Your long braid, and the smell of cigaret smoke in the air. A feeling of warmth, a quick burst of happiness. You’re my mother, and I don’t know you at all. Just stories from our family – from your friends. I miss you, and I wish that I could’ve known you. I think that we could’ve been really close. Dad hasn’t been the same since you died, all those years ago. He never takes vacations from work, he never stops thinking about you, and he refuses to move on, away from your memory. ”There will never be another Rosemary.” Sometimes, it seems like I’ve never had a mom at all. That it’s always been just me, my brother, and Dad – just the three of us. It’s like you’ve never existed. But you did exist – your grave stone has your name on it and everything. The grave yard is only down the street, and I visit you sometimes. Did you know that? I sit down, and kinda huddle next to your tome stone to hide from the wind (it’s getting cold now. Winter’s going to be coming soon – your birthday is on Christmas, isn’t it?), and I talk to you about what’s going on in my life. Do you ever hear me? Are proud of me, even though I’m probably seen as a failure in the eyes of society? Do you ever laugh when I’m causing all sorts of gleeful chaos for everyone? Do you ever cry with me when I’m crying alone in my room, and wishing that you could hold me? Do you love me? I have so many questions, especially now that I’m older and finally becoming a woman. What was it like being pregnant? What was it like to fall in love with Dad? Were you scared when I was born premature, with a hole in my heart? What was my first word? What’s your favorite color? Why did you like Elvis – why not the Beetles? Or did you like them, too? Did you ever hit Dad for saying that you had a funny nose (Worst Pick Up Line EVER)? He won’t tell me. I’d hit him, personally. I don’t remember you, Mommy, but there’s a hole in my life, where you’re supposed to be. It’s empty and lonely. I hope that we’ll meet again, someday, so that you can fill that hole in. Love, Me. • View

    Dear You,

I’ve been here before, but trust me on this one; I no longer have the masochistic tendencies of my foolish youth. Get your act together or I’m out.
