I liked the idea of oneword. It sounded like a place to read some good thoughts and maybe write some, but as I learned today, it may be populated by remedial humans and 14 year olds. Goodbye oneword.

port and tort, after dinner delight
I don’t drink the port though, it gives me a headache.
the idea is nice though, thick and sweet and intoxicating.
Things like that should not cause pain.

not the place for me. Couch? ouch
I’d rather sleep on the floor.
I’d rather walk out the door and into my car and drive off.
Couch is for slouch. Haven’t owned one in years. Makes for lazy time…
    sometimes I miss the cuddling.

    Pouch.
not in the mood, I guess.

    Just breath
    hold it in…

    Let it out…

    Pouch.

    really? rally?
today of all days, with its overcast and heartache
Today when I rallied at 5am to get on a train, to get on a bike, to get to a class that I didn’t want to be in in the first place.
Rally the troops of my soul to do something worthwhile.

    I do
    Like my mother
Like I am his mother, I hover and judge.
I hover and critique the world as though I am without flaw
because I am full of flaw
because I work so hard to be above it

  • Joni wrote about the word bars 1 year, 8 months ago

Places people go to live and die.
Feels like living, but killing yourself simultaneously.
In so many ways a place to put bars on happiness.
Barred from living the life you seek.

    Salt in my nose
    changed my life.
    neti.
    Salt in the shower, neti
now no allergies, no sinus infections, no headaches.
    NO Asthma.
    Salt in my nose
    changed my life.
    neti.
Salt, like the ocean, purifies us

  • Joni wrote about the word sponge 1 year, 8 months ago

Did I miss it, that magic time when a brain is a sponge,
when my son was a sponge… did I give enough,
    did I waste it?
    Is there still time?
Can we get re-sponged even in our older years?

  • Joni wrote about the word avenue 1 year, 8 months ago

    We gonna rock down to…
sometimes you don’t think you’ll find yourself on the same avenue
    16 years in the past
16 years ago, a different you
    Same people, nothing new.
    Like time stayed still here.

  • Joni wrote about the word chance 1 year, 8 months ago

Chance is a dog I know
In most ways he is slow.
But in the river he dives
    and I follow.
    He dove under a boulder
and shot out the other side.
    I did too.
It was a hell of a ride.

    Secretary
    A foreign concept to me.
    But, perhaps a good idea.
    Yes, I think I need a secretary.

  • Joni wrote about the word missed 1 year, 9 months ago

My aching back missing happy morning sleepy time.
    I miss the work.
Off target sometimes, but alway on track.
Sometimes I hit it spot on.
