    CANCER
    Dying from cancer
Many that I do not know
    Lives ending to soon

    So many people
    Hoping for a miracle
    That will hardly come

    Nothing repays the tears
Or the people’s cries of pain
    Hope’s now worlds away

    Begging for their lives
As their last breath flies away
    Now they are at peace.

Standing atop a skyscraper I look
I look down at the people going about
Going about their daily lives unaware
Unaware of what is going on above
Above them I start to tremble on the edge

    Simple pleasures-
    The warmth and comfort
    Familiarity to fall back on
    …A sanctuary of sorts
    Solid enough to cling to
    A protector, preserver of old
    Shielding from the outside
    Surrounded in a screen
    Untouchable by the world
    Gratefully-
    Sinking further into the cushions.

    We are like sailing ships-
    Battered by the storm inside
    Ravaged by winds and rain
    A tattered mess remains
    Waiting for another to pass
Take pity on the pitiful pieces
Patch her up the best they can
    Even knowing the extent
    Of the irreparable harm
Attempt to sew it up just enough
To be able to sail once again

    -Please
    Remove him from my psyche

    Dancing throughout my skull
    -Images of you
    Fluttering memories-
    Butterfly wings pounding
    Our tangled bodies
    Intermingling breath
    Exchanging body heat
    A fleeting moment of joy

    The silence resounds,
    Bounding off every surface,
    Spilling into nothingness.

    The snow splashed with red
    Heat pouring from her veins
    Looking at the crimson ground
Her soul cries out in agony
    Not from the physical pain
    Her affliction goes beyond
    Heartache greedily consuming-
    Staining everything it touches
    Similar to the discolored snowbank
    Seeping further, tainting what’s pure.

Hiding in the tall Savanna grass A tigress slides into position Ready to spring on her prey Muscles twitching in anticipation She lives for this, the thrill- the kill Wrestling the unsuspecting prey They never have a chance to flee The crunch of bones between her jaws Nothing compares to her lust for blood The [...]

The way I cropped you out of the pictures

If I know one thing it’s that
    You won’t listen.

    If I’m talking to you
    Why won’t you listen?
    For the love of God
    Will you please listen?

    You say that you care
But if you did, you’d listen

Little boy little boy on the wall
Please be careful not to fall
Little boy little boy, look down there
It is a long way down to the ground
Little boy little boy try not to fall
    You will be sorely missed.

You say that with time things all change,
Yet after all this while its still the same.

  • Jess posted an update: 1 year, 10 months ago

People say things change, yet most things in their lives are constant. They know who they can rely on, who not to trust, what is waiting for them at home. Many have lived the same place their whole lives. Most people have bonds, best friends, a secret place only for them. They don’t give a passing thought to the new girl, the poor girl, the girl with scars on her arms, the girl like me. I live in a house, I do not have a home. I wish I had a constant.

    Caught in the headlights
    Eyes growing wide
    Stuck at a crossroad
    Unsure which path to take
Do I flee or stay and fight?

    I think
    I might just
    Be in love with you.
    Do you feel
    The same way
    Too?
