Poetry: 1 year, 9 months agoContrived from the dust of the earth,
thus begins the search, for something we desire, through disease murk and mire. Murk and mire complete the cycle, you and I end up stifled. -
slapsticksanity wrote about the word couch 1 year, 9 months ago
The only thing left to move into the apartment was the couch. It was a nasty old couch they had found at a garage sale somewhere in upstate New York. How she loved it; she had always been partial to antiques of any variety. He loved it because he loved her. He knew that for [...]

slapsticksanity wrote about the word skeleton 1 year, 11 months ago
He approached the skeleton; it stood, head hung, arms dangling at it’s sides. He was but two feet from it now. Looking into the holes where it’s eyes once were, he suddenly felt a shiver up his spine as he noticed it’s smile.

Poetry: 1 year, 11 months agoGoodbye, Universe
As the stars explode and paint the sky
The only thing that matters is You and I
We lay on our backs, resting our heads
Too tired for sleep, no need for a bed
I watch your eyes and think at first
You’re so perfect You offset the universe
I love You now and I will love You always
This is what I think as the galaxy decays
These are our last living moments
And we let the destruction commence
The planet crumbles and we stand our ground
As space explodes without a sound… -
slapsticksanity wrote about the word stem 1 year, 11 months ago
I wrapped my fingers around the stem, this was a beautiful specimen and I knew you’d love it. I rose from my knees and extended the flower towards you. Taking it with both hands, careful not to harm it, I saw your eyes grow larger and illuminate your gorgeous face. Your smile lit up my [...]

slapsticksanity wrote about the word crane 1 year, 11 months ago
The bog was entirely empty, save one crane. He stood erect, surveying the world from one leg. The breeze displaced a few feathers on his wing. Soon he would return home to his nest, it had been an unsuccessful day of hunting.

slapsticksanity wrote about the word given 1 year, 11 months ago
In the end it would seem he had given his best effort for the sake of saving the one person he thought would be worth his life. Little did he know his valiant efforts were lost at the feet of her unfaithfulness. He had died in vain.

slapsticksanity wrote about the word braid 1 year, 11 months ago
She was braiding her hair in the bathroom, he had no idea what he said to upset her so. Sitting on the bed going over their conversation the night before, he couldn’t help but wonder if this was really working.

Poetry: 1 year, 11 months agoI wade in dangerous waters
Don’t let me pull this trigger
Don’t let me paint these walls
I don’t want to say this is your fault
But it is
I’ve never known love
But this is as close as I’ve come
It’s unrequited
That’s the problem
I’ll never have you
Please don’t let me pull this trigger… -
