I didn’t write about this but I set myself a minute least night so here it is……Tom crouched down in his hiding place as he heard Tess thundering up the stairs and along the landing. He traced the faults in the old porcelain with his finger tips as he waited, holding his breath. Then he looked up at the circle of light above him. He’d easily got in using the chair. Now he could only just reach the rim and he had no idea how he was going to climb out.
