lullaby

rock a bye baby on the tree top. I think it is so sweet that parents will sing to their children when they go to sleep. its connection. Bringing mother, father and child together. Connections that will last forever. Love. Family. It all means something and it starts with a Lullaby.

rating

a word that evaluates movies, books, quality of teaching, American Idol singers, houses that are being hunted, eharmony matches, and just about everything else is today’s society–It’s a word that involves a variety of opinions, both objective and subjective. I would give this oneword.com site a rating of 5 on a scale of 1-5 at this point. I may re-evaluate my rating at a later date, however, after I have had a chance to learn more about how this program works. I am hopeful that it will be a valuable tool for the classroom

burrow

The snake sunk down into the sand as much as it could. The sun was hot and shot rays of fire down upon it, but it had not warmed up enough to move. Still coming out of the slumber from the cold desert night, it had much to do and so little time before its precious hours in the sun were up.

mumbling

When I walked into the funeral, I couldn’t understand a thing being said by anyone. All the voices around me were syncronistic mumbles that left me without any idea of what was being said. All I could really go on was the tone, which was generally dismal and sad, what one could expect at the funeral of a pot dealer.

geometric

Walking out on the balcony late at night always feels so free and alive. Looking down upon the city and all it’s shapes and colors, it reminds to look at all of this through the eye of God. At least in the best way that I can. The slick geometry of the city, although somewhat disorderly, seems to fit perfectly at night. The perfection of each building that us humans have constructed. Everything fitting in it’s own little quarter and space. Damn, this whole thing is beautiful. Why can’t I be reminded of this all the time? It’s like only once you zoom out do things actually make sense.

geometric. It’s funny that they told us not to think about the word because how can someone honestly not think when the word “geometric” pops up. It’s definitely one of those words you only hear in a school.

bronze

Many monoliths have been enshirned in bronze over the years…. Is this to convey the seriousness of the subject one might ask? Well no…. it is convey the history and to show us all that history matters to the people!

barrel

We held hands over the wooden crate. I couldn’t look at him and refused to raise his eyes to mine. But we both knew and we both were aware of each others eyes flitting away to any corner of the room that we could settle on.

sure

To be sure about something is to know for certain. We rely on past experiences and assume that due to previous occurrences, a certain event is ‘sure’ to happen or we are ‘sure’ of facts. In reality, nothing we know is for sure. Anything could happen at any time. We are never sure.

simple

The oblique surface stared at him blankly. He stared back just as intensely. The man was waiting for his coffee from the airport vendor between his flights and as he ordered, something about the vague counter top caught him…

higher

The tree tops glistened with the newly fallen snow. I almost couldn’t contain myself as I flung my warmly dressed self from the car and directly into the nearest snow drift. I emerged from the mound of snow laughing excitedly as my sister ran to join me. Our laughter echoed through the valley as we had the time of our childhoods, playing as children do, in just another lovely snow pile off the side of the road…

rise

The man rose from his nightly slumber, getting up groggily he exclaimed to the empty house, “Good morning world, lets see what today has in store for me”… He stumbled into the kitchen and began his daily, mundane, routine…

library

Libraries are calm, quiet places. I love libraries. I wish I could go to the public library, but my parents never have time to take me, and I’ve got two more years until I get my permit. I also need a library card. :/

square

Squares. They are such mysteries. Who made the square? Why did they call it a ‘square’? Why did the decide to make it with four equal sides and right angles? They are truly a mystery.

draw

Why are you asking me the same word? It’s always “draw” this, and “draw” that! I can never figure this out. It’s so confusing. The worst part is, you have me convinced that I’m doing something wrong, like this is my fault. And even if it isn’t, I believe that it is. I just can’t shake the feeling that I’m doing something incorrectly.

I’ve already done this one. But I guess I wasn’t logged in. It’s really amazing, you have all these little bits of information moving around as electrons and other stuff, I guess. I mean, I don’t know too much about it, but essentially it’s a bunch of 1s and 0s. And the fact that we can all be represented by that, maybe someday? Amazing.

Drawing has always been a kind of difficult thing. I think what would be pretty cool is if suddenly I could draw anything. Because, of course, who wants to work for their skills? Better to get the instant gratification of having those skills, but nobody wants to do it and work toward it. Why? Is it that you need to put in the time in the first place? The fact that you can’t actually do it, and it reminds you of how much you suck? What?

help

Help is not what it was. People aren’t around any more. Finding help is hard. Asking for help is hard. No-one wants to help but everyone wants help. Help shouldn’t be extended like a loan; offered with the hope of interest in return. It should be free.

affairs

partner affairs was the name of a department at my old work. nothing could have been more apt. in and out of each other’s marriages like nowhere else. the only way to make their drab lives and drab jobs exciting. every day the same. even the pressure they were under was piled on themselves. another effort to make life feel alive.

banks

Banks have money in them. People like money. People spend their money on useless things, like over-priced clothing, unhealthy food and stuff they will probably never use more than once. Money is so abused.

approval

I want your approval. I want you to see me and not see anything else. For you to finally give me the feeling of satisfaction within myself that I’ve been craving for months. For months since I met you; I want you to tell me you love me.

principal

No one knows the difference between a principal and a principle. How is it that the English language left us with such a similarity between words with such different meanings? Where did this language of ours come from and why do we manipulate language in such a counterintuitive fashion?

cabinet

She opened the cabinet to find an old set of books perched on the shelf. Taking one into her hands, she rifled through the pages, stopping on one passage earmarked long ago. “For many who have forsaken this land shall never return lest he pay homage to her majesty.” Carol pondered the meaning of this. Perhaps this book came from a ship, buried in a trunk

suggestion

interesting. i like to give suggestions to my friends randomly intervening. i suggest that this suggestion box likes to suggestively touch me in my nether regions. i really dont know what else to suggest here, but i am quite content with suggesting nothing but a random rant about suggestion. this is kind of a cool website, but suggesting it to others may not be top priority.

seeds

Seeds are the main things for our eco system. Seeds germinate into young plants and young plants into marvelous, towering trees. Then photosynthesis and the rest. SO how about them seeds eh? Fruits have them. And some are edible. Did you know strawberries have outer seeds?

stunt

James pulled a nac 360 off of the jump. James. Not me. I couldn’t bloody well believe it. Anger warred with jealously in my heart and my cheeks burned. That was my jump, my hard work, and my ten hours a week of wipe-outs and cases.

engine

It roared. It purred. It sneezed. Wait. The engine is sickly, laying on its deathbed. Who needs its grisly motors when purity abounds? The wholesale murder of trees, of the living wood, is over. This is the past. Shaped by imaginations of the future.
