I suppose no matter how hard we try, love either stays with us or runs from us. Nobody can catch it unless it wants them to. It’s almost a disease. I suppose no matter how hard we try, we will always be stuck with or without this disease of love.

simple things, like the clouds and the sun and the rain on your skin. it’s the basic things that make you happy. basic space is a song by the xx. i like the song. it’s sensitive and moving. basic has five letters. and two vowels. i wish things were basic.

He smiled at me and my stomach did a tiny flip. I loved his smiles. His cocky half grin, his cheshire cat smile … I loved his teeth also. The little tiny gap in the front, one of the teeth slightly crooked from too many fights. I loved seeing those teeth. It means i made him happy.

i find little ways to become angry most days. these reasons are characteristically small – the lighting is bad in here! what, have you never heard that word before? – in order to offset the enormous, cloudy ire that i hold onto for myself.
