systems
The world tends to revolve around them. natural systems, technical systems. hThey seem to provide order in what is still perceived to be a chaotic world. There is no perfect system out there. Each one has it’s flaws, whether it is a naturally occuring system, or a man-made system. Stop and think for a bit…..where would we be without systems? We would be non-existent. Skeletal system, endocrine system……the list goes on and on….and as we take a step back and look at the bigger picture, all of these systems merge into the system that we call life. Amazing how all things coincide and coexist…..regardless of whether or not it is a harmonious existence.

The wings weren’t the first things I noticed. Instead, it was his eyes. The angelic feathered wings poking out of his back were actually the last thing that I noticed. But those eyes of his. Those grey, green eyes that looked like the sea after a storm. The eyes that could look dead and alive at the same time.

sound
It started as I walked into the room. Everything was quiet as the door opened, but as soon as it shut behind me, the music started. It wasn’t in the room, but it seemed more like it was in my own ears. I wasn’t entirely sure if the one other person in the room could hear the same thing that I could. He wasn’t reacting. He just, sat.

choose
if you choose to do something is a thought out process in order to decide a certain thing that will or will not happen in your life. you may either choose or choose not too, but the desired outcome will not change because it will be what it will be anyway because your choice will not change because you are you and no one else

compass
Compass means direction. It doesn’t sound like direction, it’s quite an ugly word. cum-pass. Sounds like something a brass instrument might sound like. It doesn’t sound like it looks either. People in America seem to have an internal compass, they’re always saying ‘head east’ or ‘head west’ instead of left or right which confuses me.

promise
Trust someone you love, and they will trust you back. Don’t promise something that you can’t keep, but always promise to love them and no one else or ever cheat on them, and make sure they know it.

There was a little boy who stood by the sidewalk. He was only carrying a coin and the teddy bear he had grown up with his whole life. And maybe, he was holding onto a promise.
The promise his mother had whispered into his year three weeks ago, but he knew would last forever. Because even if his mother left that morning and did not leave a message, he knew she would come back.
She promised.

procedure
Having something done. The proper steps for performing a certain exercise. What scientists and doctors follow. What people wish there was for more parts of life, when obviously there isn’t (at least not a strict one).

July is during the summer. Pools, tanning, sunglasses, dog park, HOT, anything cold (especially lemonade). July can be fireworks, especially when I see him standing there in the light of the ferris wheel, his silhoutee makes me smile.

The last time I saw her was on a spring morning. She was standing on a city square intoxicated with the nature that was waking up with every single second that passed. She always loved nature.

The sketch pad still lay on the desk where Damian had left it. Not drawn in since 2006, he decided to flip through the pages. The first page was a picture of a forest, but if you looked closely at the background, a strange figure stood there. Damian laughed, he remembered drawing it, though he couldn’t remember the inspiration.

roar
tigers? roar? elementary school. I remember those times. They were easy and it didnt matter who had the nicest clothes or shoes. all that mattered was who you got to sit next to in class and whether or not you got to pick your seat. Then middle school happened. Then high school happened.
