adviser

repeat

We repeated the same lesson maybe three of four times before Thomas actually understood what was being taught. specific

The instructions were clear and constricting. We had to use five pens for one essay in two hours. Now, that’s not so bad. There had to be 1205 words and a prime number of syllables.

basic

The short and end of it was we would have to make do with what we had. That is: two bikes (one with broken handlebars), a rickety shed, four empty oil barrels, and that’s it.

cheap

There were cheap clothes all around the thrift store. Jackets, pants, orange tees with white frilled lace collars. White frilled lace collars? How unusual! Where, who designed this?

keychain

The keychain scratched across the windshield as the snow fell. The key rattled over indents in the glass and he could feel their sudden tugs on his arm.
