pattern
I generally don’t like patterns because they’re too predictable. Given, they can be fun or boring but predictable is never fun. Life should never be a pattern.

gallery
It was stunning…this gallery. The pictures were quite grotesque, don’t get me wrong. the lines, the bodies and the figures. But it shocked and awed. The gaping holes that it demonstrated in the soles of those within it’s frames. The reminders of your own gaping wholes. A reflection…but a hope. That if these monstrous figures could be so stunning in their frames…well, you yourself could be beautiful with your own imperfections as well.

balloon
Floating on clear blue sky free. Where are you going? Where have you been? Perhaps you’ve escaped from a child hand, and left him crying. Shame on you!

festival
What a great day! Festival! The colors, the crowds, good vibe. Festival conjurs old time for me. Old times as in me devil, painted faces, women with jugs of ale, the plaque coming to town. Burnt leaves, horses draped on black, maybe not such a good time.

odds
Chances are the odds are not in my favor. But then again maybe because they are not in my favor the odds are in fact in my favor. Hmmmmm

laughter
Laughter has been called the best medicine. Sometimes when I laugh I find it clears my head and allows me to start all over again. Unfortunately, laughter truly does not solve all problems. But it does allow for a moment of relief.

alarmist
I felt like an alarmist all those many years ago in her dorm room at nursing school. Put a towel under the door before you light that cigarette. Those nuns are able to smell smoke a mile away and they are just itching to throw you out of here.

combination
The waitress set the combination plate in front of me. A steaming melange of fried rice, chow mein, and a couple of lumpy beige blobs I couldn’t identify. “I thought this was a Mexican restaurant,” I said. My sister gave me a look of disgust. The perfect ending to another night on the town.

awakening
Go ahead. Have an awakening today. Make it the best day of your life. I made my dogs happy by having an awakening on our morning walk. An awalkening, of sorts.

comfort
We humans are a comfort-seeking bunch. And our sources are as individual as our fingerprints and hair styles. In our youth we may gravitate toward liquor, sex, food, wealth. The older I get the more I appreciate familiarity, sincerity and love.

mutual
We had a mutual understanding: I made the rules and he followed them. It was the perfect relationship. Why can’t all romances be so easy?

warfare
“Oh, this is warfare, people!” Do you realize how many one-sided friendships I have? It’s time to pull the plug on all of them. Slacker friends who won’t hold up their side of the friendship. And no, this isn’t just the menopause talking.

silk
What a silly, pointless word to write about for an entire minute. Silk is of course luscious and comforting and sexy, but why write an entire minute, just aimlessly thinking about silk? I have no silk in my home, nor do I care. I DO however enjoy using the word silk to describe some of my favorite foods; silky chocolate… that’s all I can think of. Silky soy milk?

ill
Just looking at that envelope makes me ill. I know what it ia about. What in the world will I do? I can’t tell anyone yet. Nobody would believe me anyway. I wonder how long it will take before everyone finds out. My palms are so sweaty. The butterflies in my stomach have multiplied ten thousand times.

train
The was a huge train standing on the fourth track. It gleamed in the morning sunlight and looked as though it had just been wheeled out of the manufacturers yard.

There is one word in the English language that I particularly love, not only because it sounds great but it also has a wonderful meaning. That word is serendiptuous.

beloved
I want to be beloved. I saw a picture this morning of my aunt with a friend she just took a trip with and it was labeled “bff’s” and my heart broke with wanting to be someone’s bff. I thought I was making progress with my husband but when he yelled at me yesterday, something broke inside me all over again.

plaid
when i went to school we had to wear plaid skirts that were pleated in the front. No one liked them. Not because they were plaid but because they had to touch your n\knee. Now that I am older i only think of my lmother;s plaid shirts. she had lots of them and wore them alltime.

backpack
Backpacks are for people who have ambition and care about our environment. They not only take things out of it but put garbage in that would naturally pile up from those who do not care.
