Patent? What the hell? How was I supposed to come up with a patent? I’d never been creative in my life. It’s why I went into accounting. True, in my heart I was a painter, but you needed talent to do shit like that and I didn’t have a creative cell in my body. And now this? A patent? What was I, an inventor? Not at all…

destruction

At the end of the world, when destruction had consumed all that man had built, and saved, and savored, devoured, loved, and grown, there stood a man in the rubble. Wide-brimmed hat on his head, pulled low over his eyes for shade, he chewed on the end of a slowly dying cigarette.

umbrella

The umbrella collapsed under the rain. It wasn’t even heavy rain; the umbrella was just old. Old and missing the fervor it had when Grant had first bought in on his first day in Hong Kong. To be honest, he didn’t know if it was rain or merely heavy smog settling over the city.

amuse

Amusement parks are one of the most frightening things on the planet, the Doctor said as he stepping into the sun. And trust me, I’ve seen a lot of the planet. And some other ones too. Nothing quite comes close to the crazy folks who run amusement parks.
