duck
The man looked around the park and glanced the pond, the mother duck led her ducklings under some brush next to the shore as the rain started to fall. It reminded him how he was alone in his own storms.

cowboy
I looked around the broken, wind slept landscape and at the mesas flanking my sides, I saw the soul of the west.
behind me my partner, my associate a cowboy out of time, rode on a painted horse, enjoying the scenery under the bleaching Colorado sun.

ivy
Ivy was a chick who was in Batman. I think it was Uma Therman. She’s looked hotter, frankly. She isn’t really a red-head, is she? Also, grows on the outside of old houses and stuff. Still though, I’d probably take Uma Therman over the green stuff. Just sayin’…

green vines growing up a trellis on the side of my neibors porch in clearmont florida, thinking I could climb like like in shadow of the colosuss, I grabbed on, but they fell off and I gave up. I wasn’t sad, it was just a memory.

I walked through the woods, and suddenly came upon an unexpected young man. He was short, and his body was clothed in a very strange manner. Namely, bits of ivy leaves and vines ran the length of his torso.

certain
I saw the equation and knew from the model, the half-life. I knew the correlations and I knew the odds so I knew it would happen with almost certainty. But certainty and it happening are different.
Assuming it will happen and it happening even 9999/10000 are not certain.

reader
I saw the woman looking down into the book, her hair draped over her face hiding any expression. I realized she was like like me, a dreamer, a seeker , a reader. I glanced to see the book she read but could not see the title. Some novel I guessed based on the style.

I saw the assorted figures and equations in the damn table, exact absolute infinite approximations, nuances of reality.
Breaking the world down by infinity and zero, as Laplace and Fourier had done….

walk
I heard the steps behind me and I kept going, I looked in the reflection of the windows on the side of the street beside me. There was no one, but the steps continued.
I turned around and the footsteps ended.

used
As I saw the spent shell casing on the ground, I knew it had been a set up, they were too ready, too prepared, we were being used.
That made the loss of a friend that much worse… we were simple props….

patience
I felt my body wear thin, the jittery buzz of the caffeine and sleep deprivation, I don’t need to put up with this crap.
My patience wore thin just like the thin ice under our feet.

schedule
I saw the time fly, but it had no meaning… I have no schedule to my pacing or this madness.
I am my own man, I answer to no one and so I set my own pace mostly and let the hours and days fall as they will.

jazz
I here the saxaphone blaring, and I here the pianist chiming in… this is the life.
I see the dim light from the crystalline chandeliers and I know this the place.
What will I tell the young ones, the ones to follow of this place?

motel
I saw the pair of automobiles pull up, I knew this was the place, the seedy under belly of America. Yet I stayed and watched, my cigarette smoke souring the air in my car as I watched the scene unfold .

chuckles
I heard the subtle laughter behind me, chuckles, and I knew I was in a bind.
I didn’t hesitate, I reached into my coat pocket to grab cigarette from the case and also reached something for something else which was not a lighter at all from the holster ….

I see the smoke coming off my torch, this place has the feel of death and rot, like slimy things in the dark.
Welcome to the den of evil. I ready my revolver and I know things skitter and lurk in the darkness.

hats
I put on the hat, the hard hat of a worker, a oilfield man, and so I became an oilfield man. When I took it off I was one no longer.
I put on the beret of a soldier and I was one.
Then I took the hat off and I was myself.
