crow
The drab, shabby, neglected cousin of the elegant and refined Raven. Harbinger of doom and overlooked, yet oddly prevalent in old wive’s tales and oft-repeated adages. Follow the crow’s path and the way is clear.

five
Five years ago, she didn’t know what she would be doing. Now, she couldn’t believe where she was. It was like a bad dream…she wanted to go back five years and make different choices, explore other opportunities. She knew she could be in a different place, a better place…but no one had invented time travel yet.

forth
“Go forth,” they said. So I strapped on my backpack and hopped onto the boat. I don’t know why they thought I was leaving forever, I’d be back in six months. But as I was floating away on the ship, seeing their goodbye waves through the mist, I felt like I would never make it back.

teeth
I have dreams all the time where my teeth fall out or rot. I think it’s because I am too appearance obsessed. I bumped teeth during my first kiss, it hurt like hell. I whiten my teeth because I’m pathetic.

raised
I was raised in Georgia as a southern girl. Actually, I wasn’t really raised, I spent my childhood scraping knees and clmbing trees and wrestling the little boys next door. I didn’t go to school. I was barely homeschooled. I learned by myself. And now I’m studying pre-med. Who would’ve thunk.

entrance
The entrance to my house has always been a little plain. My parents aren’t big decorators. The most they will do is a few white lights, only at Christmastime. This was a lot like our relationship.

gone
Innocence is gone. Happiness is gone. The real happiness, like climbing trees and bike rides and popsicles and not knowing about cheating and abortion and foreign policy. Confidence – totally gone. First it’s in your looks, then in your actions.

trap
It was a bright, gaping hole that opened up with a net that would swallow any unexpected victim into its foreboding twine. It was a single word. There was no way that I could respond without being looked at is if I was some sort of monster who didn’t like chocolate, or, have a soul.

architecture
The architecture of the building was horrible. Tiles falling apart, stones rubbing on the floor, the ceilings water melted and caving in. It was a horrible place to live, and yet, I loved it. It was my first apartment. I needed to love it because the rent was obscenely high and I couldn’t live anywhere else. I guess the couch was nice, it had a good worn-in feeling. But other than that, the building was crumbling. My neighbors hated the place and tried to leave every single day.

lilies
In Japan, the word “lily” has come to mean a genre about straight school girls who fall in love with each other for the invisible audience of straight people.
They get this phrasing from the “lily tribe” or the lesbian community. Strange how one can be so objectifying and the other so empowering.

In Japan, “yuri,” the word for “lily,” was used to describe the Lesbian community, naming them the lily tribe. It sounds so empowering, doesn’t it? WE’RE A FUCKIN TRIBE, WITH LILIES!

corner
It was tha happiest she had been in a long time. She looked around her and saw colores, she smelled wild flowers, she tasted marshmellows. “Normal Peoplople” didn’t undertand her world, all they saw was a beautiful girl daydreaming, lost in her thought, ahle sitting in the corner of her room in the mental Hospital.

canteen
I’ve got a canteen. It’s black with a white and red chinese dragon painted on the side. It’s very nifty, but I prefer my Camelbak. I miss my Camelbak. I wonder who took it? I should have put my name on it. But honestly, who just picks up a Camelbak and says “This is mine now”? Especially with the bite thingy. That seems incredibly unhygenic, even after you put it through the washer. Like my spit is just all up in there and everything. That is not ok. It was sweet though, cuz it got me to drink like 3 liters of water a day. I felt like such a beast. I’d just set it in front of me and do my homework and drink and it was awesome. It’s such a lazy device though. You don’t even have to pick it up or anything. You just bite and suck. That sounds incredibly dirty. I feel like whoever came up with this really enjoyed felatio.

severe
Severe was the only way to describe how she looked. Hair tied up, black clothes, no traces of a smile. It’s no wonder she frightened the children. “Are you here for the Parent-Teacher meeting”. Gulp. It would have been easier to lie and run like hell out of the building, but there are probably rules against that.

bubbles
Once while I was in Australia my friend started screaming in the middle of the street. “Bubble tea, bubble tea, let’s have one.” I had never heard let alone tasted one of those… and later I knew why: Jelly bubbles in some sort of extra disgustingly sweet cold tea. You’re supposed to suck them in by straw. Ew…
