The bellhop couldn’t help but get sidetracked when that guest came and hopped onto his desk to sit. He had never wanted company, but she refused to believe otherwise. She reached forward and stole his hat, placed it on her head as if to model for him and smirked.
“Give me my hat back.” He said annoyed, the faintest slight of grin hidden on his face. “I’ll give it back….Maybe.”Posted By DevinSkye On 01.22.2011 @ 10:57 am
Maybe it was a whim that caused her to walk under the big top that night, or maybe it was fate that caused her to run into the ringmaster who with his red and gold coat tossed to the side, picked up the garbage lazy audiance members left when the show ceased. Maybe it was a whim that caused her to hum that one song that made the ringmaster look up with his icy blue eyes locking onto hers, smile and say “You like Sinatra?”Posted By DevinSkye On 01.14.2011 @ 11:20 am
Once a night every summer, in the cool breeze she would go and watch the men set up the tents, the wind throwing her hair every way, making a mess of its self. She would saunter up to the ringmaster, and wrap her arms around his neck tightly, and kiss his lips lightly. She would grin and hold on tight to her love whom she seldom saw and revel in the sweetness of the summer breeze.Posted By DevinSkye On 01.13.2011 @ 2:44 pm
There were small blotches on his skin, obvious signs of Stage II, but she wrapped her arms around his neck anyway. “You’ll catch the virus.” He muttered trying to pull away. “ I love you too much to give you the disease. Wait till they’ve a cure.” “I don’t want to wait.”Posted By DevinSkye On 01.11.2011 @ 11:16 am
Her breath was ragged, she’d ran as far she could, her lungs begging for air, her legs refusing to move anymore. Now, backed against the wall she watched him raise his arms up to either side of her, pinning her and sealing her lamentful fate. “H-how do you know I’m not just like you only trying to hold a disguise?” She stuttered. He smirked, leaning in closer to her, show his teeth in his shark-like grin. “You’re most definitely human. The blood rushing to your face, the frightened stutter in your voice…” He smirked. “I’ve not seen a human in long time…”Posted By DevinSkye On 01.11.2011 @ 9:10 am
Ella had fallen asleep sometime, most likely from the pain the withdrawl had caused, she didn’t even remember losing consciousness. But her eyes blinked open and she felt…warm. She glanced over and saw Noah beside her, his eyes shut in a light sleep. He always ran a temperature slightly higher than average and it made his skin warm; Ella loved it. She nestled near him her eyes slightly teared up as she tried to get warm. She had forgotten just how much support he brought her.Posted By DevinSkye On 01.10.2011 @ 9:54 am
To be perfectly honest she was at wit’s end. For five years she had struggled to bring her love’s family together. Her love’s father would never budge an inch though, always refusing to become malleable and assuage the problems the family had. So now, as she quietly opened her tired eyes in the hospital, the white lights burning at first, she was surprised to see her father-in-law rocking her baby boy, his twin sister asleep in her cradle.
“Sir?” She drawled sleepily…”You’re here.”
“Of course. “ he said grinning happily. “They’re my grandchildren…They’re my family.”Posted By DevinSkye On 01.08.2011 @ 6:29 am
It may of been unconventional of her to have thrown away her top-notch education to travel the country in his circus, it may of even been unconventional to become a lion tamer, but it was all she had wanted since that night so long ago when he had kissed her under the empty big top. Becoming the wife of a ringmaster when she could of been a lawyer or a teacher, something productive to society may have seemed dumb, but looking back on it though, she found her life to be a wonderful, magnificent, success that she would never change.Posted By DevinSkye On 01.03.2011 @ 2:04 pm
The sky was dark, not a star to be found in the milky blackness, but Ava still stared up intently, searching for a single star. “Gabriel?” She tugged on her twin brother’s sleeve and looked up at him. Gabriel put the Rubik’s Cube that he had been fumbling with away in his coat pocket and looked down at his younger sister that still held to the story their mother had gave them to help with their father’s passing. “Where’s Daddy’s star?” He looked around for a moment, then finally pointed at the biggest and brightest star that had just came from behind a cloud.
Ava grinned, a huge smile overtaking her features as she looked at the star. “And Mama?” Gabriel paused searching for a moment. He repeated what he repeated every night to the girl: “Mama was always beside Daddy.” And he pointed to a smaller star beside the star claiming to be the children’s father.Posted By DevinSkye On 12.29.2010 @ 12:39 pm
Their world was a world of myth and lore, a world where colors splashed vibrantly through the air as they soared on large wings, slashing through the air, sparkles of life bursting in every soul that took residence in this world. The world held a joyous and magical feeling that no one could take away from the people, it dwelled in their hearts and grew with each passing sunrise. Amunet and Amasis ruled this world, and they held a love for their kingdom that raged fiercely, like a star that screamed across the night sky blazing it’s way through the heavens. They protected their world from all who wished to harm it’s joyful citizens. It was their world, this beautiful world filled with colors, imagination, and hope for a future as bright as the fire that burned in their souls.Posted By DevinSkye On 12.26.2010 @ 6:53 pm
It was obvious he was watching her from across the dance floor as he casually sipped his drink, but the young flapper didn’t seem to notice. No, she was tied up in dances of the Charleston and the drinks men offered her. She was tied up in the jazz and the booze, but not him…or so he thought. A smirk formed on his face and he watched her his icy gaze raking over her body as she walked over to him and hopped up, sitting on the table he sat at. She smirked down at him, her green eyes sparkling. “Buy me a drink?”Posted By DevinSkye On 12.25.2010 @ 3:48 pm
