In the end, Jack agreed to leave. But before he left, he was sure to leave a parting gift. Once Alex returned to his home and found the bloody message, Jack knew that it would shake the older man to his very core. Jack may have agreed to leave, but there was no way he’d ever be forgotten.

He scooped her small form of the ground as he ran past, not even pausing in his stride. He could hear the angry growls of his pursuers as they slowly gained ground on him, but he tried to ignore the vicious sounds and pressed on doggedly.

He couldn’t bear it when they all walked away. For so long he had been surrounded by them, protected and nurtured, but now they were gone and there wasn’t anything he could do to bring them back.

Order was not something that featured very heavily into his life. Things were always hectic, whether it be the sports he played, the fights he fought, or the women he interacted with. Order and rules were always cast aside in favour of chaos and anarchy and that was the way he liked it.

chaos

Chaos surrounded the group as they huddled together, attempting to block out the screams of the dead and dying. When they had first set out on their journey, it had seemed like a great idea to hire a warrior with a resume as decorated as Kane’s was. Now that they saw him in action however, it was not awe they felt, but rather disgust at the way he mercilessly slaughtered all who stood in his path.

myth

Nobody was supposed to have as much power as the being that had just made an impressive entrance. Steven had always thought that such a creature was no more than a myth, but it was quite apparent now that he had been extremely mistaken.

His name might as well have been mud for all I knew of him. He boasted about his exploits as though he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I was yet to be impressed by anything I saw.

Regardless of what his station in life was, he refused to be a pawn. He had his values and his morals and no amount of money or coercion would ever make him bow down to anyone.

There was absolutely nothing common about the way he stalked the streets that night. It was clear he had a purpose and the sinister look in his dark eyes made it very clear that tonight someone would be meeting their end.
