setting
setting is what surrounds you in a place, obviously. the decor, furniture, the zen, the feeling you get. or simply at the beach, inside, in the forest; hence, where a movie takes place. Setting can be described as a table setting: forks, knives, plates, fancy napkins.

couch
not the place for me. Couch? ouch I’d rather sleep on the floor. I’d rather walk out the door and into my car and drive off. Couch is for slouch. Haven’t owned one in years. Makes for lazy time… sometimes I miss the cuddling.

rally
really? rally? today of all days, with its overcast and heartache Today when I rallied at 5am to get on a train, to get on a bike, to get to a class that I didn’t want to be in in the first place. Rally the troops of my soul to do something worthwhile.

hover
I do Like my mother Like I am his mother, I hover and judge. I hover and critique the world as though I am without flaw because I am full of flaw because I work so hard to be above it

bars
Places people go to live and die. Feels like living, but killing yourself simultaneously. In so many ways a place to put bars on happiness. Barred from living the life you seek.

sponge
Did I miss it, that magic time when a brain is a sponge, when my son was a sponge… did I give enough, did I waste it? Is there still time? Can we get re-sponged even in our older years?

Chance is a dog I know In most ways he is slow. But in the river he dives and I follow. He dove under a boulder and shot out the other side. I did too. It was a hell of a ride.

scarves
A simple fashion statement. So hard to match, for me, with my colorblind eyes…just another accessory that I’ll mess up. Who cares? This one glitters! And this one…has been wrapped around my eyes as you pinned me to your headboard. It’s my favourite. It still smells of the sweetness of sex.

Printing. I am here at my boyfriend’s because I need his printer. Being here leads to rather extreme procrastination. Had I stayed in my room, I would probably be done with my essay already. I have not started yet. This is kind of distressing. No wonder I get no sleep. Mark Twain, write about yourself for me?

This would be my first word. It’s where we grew up together. Where our memories sit above the tv. Thousand of video game battles. Candy and Winky. Disney poster. Our first kiss. I don’t even know what else. Infinite things. I used to sleep in it and fantasize about you coming down to visit, but you never did.

potato
The potato is a yummy vegetable. My grandma made the best mashed potatoes. They were so rich and creamy, filled with buttery goodness. I still use the same recipe with my family and I hope that these potatoes bring the same warm and comfortable thoughts for them that they have for me whenever I remember enjoying them with my family.

A small town. In the wild or rural. Some say it takes a village to raise a child, i think that means that many faces are needed to see a child through.
