professional

what I want to be. A business professional in a tailored suit, new haircut, and meetings and presteige. I hope that means I can still be outside. Its what I dream of and what my four years is all about. Financial security in a job with people that ilove and that’s all I know. I’m good at being professional

lift

Up in the air the wind lifted the leaf off of the ground high above the houses. It was as light as a feather and was lifted to new heights. No one knows how far the leaf will go.

track

I had never been to a track meet before. Watching men and women hurl themselves over bars had its own, albeit strange grace and elegance. When they run and jump, or just run, there was an amazing strength in their gait.

clue

This word is cool. It ends with 2 vowels. I’s like a hipster – it thinks it’s unique, but you’ve seen this before. I’m doing a crossword right now, so this word is relevant to me. It sounds cool.

maze

life is a little bit like a maze. you start, thinking it’s going to be easy and really great, a smile on your face and silent fear in your hands. you begin to navigate and find it really isn’t that easy – this will take effort. after countless hours of searching, you’re done, renewed, finished with the maze.

I once met a beautiful pony named skey. Skey had a really nice mane and could trot very nicely. One day, i couldn’t find Skey anymore… I don’t know where she went. She was officially gone, officially…. not mine anymore.

Everyone speaks of getting a pony… well i had one.. but not anymore.

sacred

finding sacredness in small things. An underlined word in a worn Bible, the time in His presence, the sun setting, reminding me of His love. WHy have I stopped finding these things so sacred and special? Get back there!

cabin

Cold. Late. Lonely. The cabin stood alone in the quiet forest waiting for someone to discover the treasures inside. It hadn’t been visited in such a long time that anyone who might have found it, might not have seen it under the covering on cobwebs.

A leaf, crunched triumphantly beneath my shoe.

Icy-topped snow, punched through haplessly by my winter boots.

a cookie, it’s insides the opposite: gushing and melty.

sparkling

I want to sparkle. I want to live in a future where I’m happy enough to smile. Maybe it won’t be easy, and maybe it will take awhile, but that’s what I want. I know what I want. I need it. You want my to stay here but I swear to god i’ll get out. I swear. I promise. I promise. I promise.

bland

I took a bite hoping for spicy cajun tilapia to burst onto my tastebuds with fiery boldness. All I got was bland tastelessness. What a disappointment.

oil

Little green and tan herbs swirled around in the cup of olive oil. I dipped the fluffy, warm bread with a crisp crust into it and had a delicious snack.

apron

It was tied firmly about her waist. her lip was set,and she brandished her spatula confidently. Red Velvet cake, here she comes!

Hanging the apron on the line she noticed the neighbour staring over the fence at her again. She wondered why he kept looking over all the time. That afternoon she collected the apron in but didn’t see the neighbour this time she never saw him agian.

trunk

“I packed my grandmother’s trunk…” Ahh the memories of four hour car rides, or twelve hour ones depending on where we were going. We would pack Grandma’s trunk so many times-but they were beautiful times and I will never forget them.

glimmer

a little light shone through the treetops, just a sparkle of moon. But it told her that the clouds had gone. She pushed through the sharp undergrowth and burst upon the field in ecstasy. the sky was a city of stars, cluttered and breathtaking.

The sunlight glimmered off the water as the afternoon sun went down. Ducks were floating around looking for their next unsuspecting meal. The trees swayed as the wind picked up and the small fishing boat began to return to shore, knowing that a rough night was ahead.

estate

The woman at the estate sail looked very un-mournful as she enthusiastically slapped the old books into a box and handed them to me. “I’ll be glad to be rid of those dusty old things.” I was just glad I was taking them-I would take care of them.

bridge

She strode over the small footbridge, stopping in the middle. Hands grasped her arms from behind, causing her to jump a little. Turning around she saw a face she had lost all of hope of seeing ever again. He smiled.

dessert

Desserts are traditionally looked at as barren, but really some of the most unique creatures and plants thrive there. Places like desserts are given such reputations because of how they appear on the surface. Investigating anything, even something that appears barren, may bring about lovely and unique things. So even though something looks hopeless, give it a try. You may be surprised at what it brings.

And oh my god…I realize now I just wrote about a desert. And the word was dessert. Pshh. I’ll keep it :D

carved

his cute face looked cheerfully at me-he did not smile, but was jolly nonetheless. In his hands he held a bucket of tiny candy canes and a staff. He was made by loving hands-my grandfather’s. He was the most beautiful Father Christmas I had ever seen.

fireplace

It was empty, barren, filled with black dust and ash of someone else’s memories. I began to sweep them out, and my mind was taken a hundred years back to the warmth of a fire and the glow of soft candles….

flood

I felt the level rise, starting to distort my vision. The cup of tears finally brimmed and my face was instantly wet. and I smiled. I could cry.

panorama

My eyes swept 360 degrees in a squiggly pattern of awe. The mountains dipped and rose gracefully, blue-grey against the pale blue sky, the close ones being highlighted with the last of autumn yellow…
