and instead of drinking sparkling white wine like i always figured we would on a special occasion like this, we drank miller lite. it was a thousand times better than anything i had figured.

bland
The walls were white and the door squeaked as it was pushed open, but never when it closed. But all in all, there was nothing special about the room. The bed was made neatly, the shelves packed with books that were alphabetized by author, just like any other library.

savage
The savages stuggled up the slippery wet board onto the dock, their eyes ajusting to the first light after months below deck. The metal around their chaffed wrist clinked

She lunges, but he dodges. She is savage, anger wiping all thoughts from her mind. She cannot lose. It is out of the question. She. Must. Win. If not for herself, for Tock. For his apple.

my best girl friend growing up had the last name savage, and she was the complete opposite. she was quiet and hesitant, i always had to convince her to climb the trees and kiss the boys. i hope she turned into something more like her last name.

dozen
A dozen cars sat in his garage and the roads awaited. But all he wanted was to sit back, relax, and watch a movie on his own goddamn couch. Why was that not acceptable? Why?

apron
She smiles sweetly as she sweeps her hair across her shoulders and carefully ties the apron around her. Her eyes twinkle as she bends towards the small girl, rays of summer sunshine streaming through the open window.

thorns
She skips along the path, kicking up dirt along the way. Her hands sway back and forth, occasionally scraping along the thorns that protrude from the bushes lining her trail, but she doesn’t mind.

trunk
He drove quickly into the thick brush of trees, holding her hand and gazing at her, smiling, in the passenger seat. She was entirely oblivious to the fact that in his trunk was a picnic basket with sandwiches, cupcakes… and an engagement ring.

It sits there, at the end of his bed. It sits there as he sleeps, it sits there as he silently removes himself from his cocoon of blankets, it sits there as he drags himself past her dresser and past her shoes and into the bathroom, where her toothbrush still rests on the counter. Her trunk. It sits.

champagne
It sparkles, glinting in the fluorescent lights that hang above her. She sighs as she swirls the champagne in the glass, glancing around the too large room. The glass finds its way to her lips as the laughter swirls around her just as the champagne does.

Champagne is the classy alcohol. You see it at parties. You’re so fancy because you drink fucking champagne. Good for you and your sparkling shit. Happy new year. I hope you have a freaking fantastic night.

deaf
Deaf. It is as though I am deaf. They are speaking and I am not hearing. But I am crying, because he is smiling and laughing and trying to make it seem like this is okay. I want to hear him, hear what he is saying, but I can’t. I am so in love with him that it is not even funny. I love him so much and I’m so sorry for the trouble I’ve gotten him in. I don’t ever want to see his smile go away, to see his soundless laugh fade. But I’m fading, I’m waking up, I’m heartbroken.

dusk
The sky darkened at dusk, and I stared out across the bay in silence. The cold air bit my bare fingertips that were sticking out of my ratty gloves, but I didn’t care. It seemed that pain was the price of being alone, of having the freedom to think for myself. The colors in the horizon made me want to sob. Dark and fading, like me. Yes, this was the price of being alone.

palette
my palette is pretty grey right now. i usually love color but i just don’t have the energy to look for it right now. you don’t seem to understand that breaking your heart meant breaking my own. that all the color i thought my world had actually ended up being nothing but a white light at the end of a tunnel.

princess
Once upon a time, there was a little girl by the name of Princess Lizzie. Lizzie was very, very sick, and one day, she lost all her hair. She was afraid that without her hair, she couldn’t be a princess anymore- I mean, a princess has to be beautiful, right? Well, her friends soon showed Lizzie that she could be a beautifu

sneaky
Sneaky. Joking. Tip toeing past the stairs, down the hall, turn on the light–hide in the closet, quickly, quietly, sneaking. Like a spy. A ninja. Bump in the night, you know. Sssh.

slouch
I slouched down on the couch so that whoever was outside the window couldn’t see me. I was sweating, my heart pounding loudly in my ears. My sick curiousity was getting the best of me. Slowly I crept toward the top of the couch. I couldn’t resist the urge to see who was there. One eye slowly breeched the top of the couch with shaky lids.

dim
Life was. Everything was. My heart was. Where was the light, we wondered all day. If we venture to the end of the universe and peek over the flap of darkness, will there be a dim light, or none at all, or only a faint glow of what once could have been light, but now is simply something forgotten, something left behind.

marble
She stepped through the doorway, carefully placing one foot in front of the other. Her white converses stood out from all the other feet on the marble floor. What was she doing here, she thought to herself. She shouldn’t have come. She realized now that it was a mistake but there was no turning back. Meredith slipped through the gaggle of girls to greet her. Meredith was wearing baby pink flats, much more delicate than her sneakers.
“Welcome, so glad you could make it, the meeting will start shortly.”

There is a trumpet, Bongos, a Singer. She sings and he dies. It’s sad and mad. Why? The Orchestra is strange. It’s an Orchestra of death. Evil. Scary.

positively
One day I was looking at a jump and had to fly into the roots of a tree and then found myself sprawled across an acorn. It was quite the photograph that I talked to, he had quite the afro. His mothers name was Kiwi and he smelled of beef stew. Lemons.

energy, better then the negativity in the world, makes people happy. Having fun. Loving life. Giving good feedback. getting good feedback. doing well on a test and thinking good thoughts all day. Having an exceptional day at work and going home to a loving family that cares for you and thinks you are an amazing person just the way you are. Being one with yourself and being connected to you inner thoughts and brain waves.

prints
prints. At first I thought it said pants. lawl. Anyways prints! When I hear this word, I think of ink on paper. Thick parchment and a quill. There goes my Harry Potter side. I really am rubbish at this word. Oh dear, I am sorry. This is so short. That’s what she said.

patent
Patent. At first when I saw this word, I thought it said patient and although it had nothing to do with anything, I instantly thought of Cody. God, I like that kid so much, I’m sure any word would get me thinking of him. The sad thing is, is I don’t think he’ll ever think of me outside of class. Ahhhh first world problems.

tires
Black, rubber, the gravel sticking on them. Rolling or standing still. I’m at ground level with them. Just looking, the entire tire is not seen–just the area of connection. just where the tire meets the road. the black on black. Sitcky rubbber, its hot, next to, squishing the scratchy, rough road below.
