tumble

Jerry tumbled out of the shower in a rush to grasp the towel perched lightly on the windowsill. Said windowsill overlooked the veranda where once a mystery woman claimed to love him, but he’d forgotten all about her by the time the water hit his forehead.

coach

So, today, I though I wouldn’t sit with them. Just to spite. I thought they might react. Maybe come down to my end “Oh, we’re sorry, please please sit with us” and I’d feel powerful, and consider saying “No”, and see how they like it, but they didn’t. So I listened to my Ipod instead.

undetected

Well, that’s easy, I thought. I just say “hi, how are you?” So, I said the words, and immediately was faced with penetrating, crushing silence. No response. Uh, hello?

sisterhood

One day, my sister was born. She really freaking annoys me sometimes, but she’s pretty enjoyable when we’re alone. We like hanging out, going on the internet together, watching movies, and eating. I also really like baking together, cause we don’t actually bake what the dough or batter, we just eat it. I think that’s what sisterhood’s about.

shattered

She was crushed, shattered. Her life had broken apart into a million little pieces spelling out his name, his face. He was gone. He couldn’t say goodbye, he could never look into her eyes again, and he would never softly speak her name in the early hours of a summer morning again. She was shattered.

I was shattered when I saw my father with another woman. How could he betray his own family like that? I thought they were in love, I thought that they were happy. I was wrong. Dead wrong. What should I do? Should I tell my mother? Should I tell my brothers? Or should I talk to my father? I don’t know what to do.

signed

She signed the letter with her name. She had thought for a while about using her sister’s; after all, he would have rather heard from her anyway. But it was all over now, and it didn’t matter anyway.

taboo

It was inappropriate, and the audience gasped almost at once. She shuttered, and remembered it was wrong. They stared at her, with their piercing, slit, eyes that told her just the extent of her damage. The word, the story, had she no manners? Such a touchy subject, that the little world lined in silk and refinery would surely shun her for the rest of her days.

dissolve

I was making some coffee the other day, but I had to do some doctoring, as I don’t like the taste. I added milk, then added sugar. The sugar quickly began to dissolve. I picked up the mug, took a swig, and spit it right right back out – I had dissolved salt, rather than sugar.

electrocute

they fire one hundred and fifty volts through you cracking open your skull and dousing your brain in sweet fire; shaking you up like you’re used to being shook, the doctors speak in rapid tongues when your eyes close and you wake up in a hospital bed with one hundred and fifty memories lost

shocked

anchor

An anchor is what keeps a boat from moving to far away from one spot. It is shaped like an arrow. I think of them as being white and are usually for big boats. I usually think of them for when people are fishing.

dashboard

My head bounces off A cacophony of shrieking metal tearing from the helm of my ship A sudden dull bass drop Boom And now such deep quiet

Just like in the movies, I am gone.

Feet kicked up on the dashboard, he stared at her while she aimlessly sang Rascall Flatts, loud and completely out of tune. He smiled and thought to himself what a day this was, what a girl she was, what a life this was.

The vines that wrap my heart and entwine themselves with my pain… Tighter and tighter until my beating piece wants to burst.

Burst to stop it.

And burst to start again.

plague

The war was terrible. There was a pandemic, and then all there was was fighting. Fighting over the limited cure, over food and supplies. Now it’s only me and a few others left. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me, or where we’ll go. But I know that we will survive. We are the strong, the survivors, and we cannot fail.

bronze

Her skin was an awful bronze color, she had laid in the tanning bed to long. I didn’t understand how all the girls here did it. They all had perfect make up, too tan skin, straightened bleach blond hair. Was anyone in this superficial city unique?

beware

beware of the feelings. They will flood you when you’re least expecting it. It’s like one second you’re okay and the next you don’t know why you ever thought you could move on. They’re always there. Always
