mango

They are juicy… but the texture is really grainy. I like them much better than guava and prefer them over bananas as long as they are fresh. Mangoes provoke a tropical feeling though, so I enjoy them.

sage…such an interesting word. sage reminds me of grandmas sitting on porches in the late summer knitting with an old cat purring on their feet. don’t ask me why… hmm sage also reminds me of lavender- partly because i dont quite know what sage actually is. i’ll ask my mom… … oh wow i was wrong. my mom said it means wisdom from age…ohmygoodness i do not believe her. dictionary time! well this is turning out to be a lesson rather than an opinion lol. ohhhkayy thats better. sage is either an herb whose grayish-green leaves are used in medicine and for seasoning in cookery or a profoundly wise person; a person famed for wisdom. well seeing that sage could either be an adjective or a noun, my grandma thing up there wasn’t too shabby. i could just add in that there are sage bushes growing around the edge of the porch and the air is filled with their aroma. there- that’s sage for you.

cards

cards are given on birthdays and holidays typically, but the best type of cards, are the unexpected ones. the ones that say “i’m glad to have you around” and even though they’re random and completely unnecessary- they are one of the most necessary things- they are love. when you get something in the mail dont you feel loved? when i see something that’s addressed to me, i get this bubbly feeling inside because i know this person took the time to think about me and write this out by hand rather than sending me a text message or IM. and you know what’s even better? postcards! they tell a story just from the image on the front, and if they’re from somewhere out of the country- that’s even better. then its like someone from columbia, or italy or india or australia or africa or chile or where ever in the world you are, touched this card. it went through the mail with all the other cards and letters in another language, in another country, in another time zone! call me crazy, but getting a card in the mail is almost as exciting as reaching into a bag of trail mix and pulling out an m&m on the first try.

microphone

A microphone is something you sing into. It amplifies your voice so that everyone can hear you. I used to get nervous singing into a microphone, but as long as I’m singing a somg that I like, I’m okay, for the time being I guess.

charge

there’s things in life we don’t really think about everyday, which i’d like to show my appreciation for in this paragraph. for one, i use my phone charger all the time and never really imagine what it’d be like without it. but if my phone died and i didn’t have my charger, i’d be flipping out that my phone was dead and i couldn’t charge it. my computer, camera, ipod, nintendo ds, psp, ipad, etc etc. we don’t take into consideration that without the charge of electricity- we would be without all these wonderful things that we use in our everyday life. there’s also charge in people. the surge of electricity you feel when you see someone you really love. the charge of energy that bursts out of you when adrenaline pumps through your veins. i wish i could charge my body like i charge my phone…but actually i can. sleep! sleep is the natural charger that we use every night (or day for you night owls) to rejuvenate our bodies. so i’d just like to say “thank you” to all the chargers in the world- because really? we wouldn’t be able to do it without you.

coward

I am a coward all the time. I was hurt. I get scared. I run away. I usually don’t regret it, but I wonder what could have been if I just stuck it out and dealt with things like most normal sane people.

I hate the way that Hannah pronounces this word. The word reminds me of old women in a department store. Like in a Macy’s or JCPenny. We should invest in some sweaters or turtlenecks. And it

pills

There were pills in a bottle and they took a girls life. Something so small goes a long way. The days she spent wishing she was someone killed her from one small pill. Why are such small things made that make a huge difference?

Posted By Molly On 02.07.2011 @ 7:42 am

I had to take so many pills over the summer. I don’t really know what was wrong with me. No one did. I believe it was stress. But I thought I had mono because I couldn’t eat and had chest pain, headaches, etc. It was a hard time. I also had to take four different pills a few months back for a sinus infection. Not pretty.

suicide

tyler died because of this. shot. hung. pills. depression. what makes someone feel like there is no hope? there is always hope. there is always a future. there is always a way out. a better way than suicide could ever offer. this is not the answer. this is never the answer. this is cowardly and selfish and only hurts those around you. you can hurt yourself or those around you, make your choice.

wrench

Wrench. It reminds me of a monkey. Probably from the term “monkey wrench.” When my father works on cars he always asks me to get him a wrench if I’m around. Also, when I was younger I used to sing “If I was a wrench girl” in one of the pop song on the radio. Oh, my childhood…

darkroom

Wow, I wish I owned a darkroom. I love film photography. It would cut my developing costs down so much, too. I would love to watch other people develop theirs, too. I love to watch people, especially if they’re doing anything involving film.

Posted By Molly On 02.01.2011 @ 6:55 pm

darkrooms usually refer to traditional photography. but to me a darkroom, is a dark room. as in, the lights are off. i feel like there is so much to discover in the dark. for example, i’ve walked through my room countless times and i know it like the back of my hand. but when i walk through it in the dark its a completely different experience! also, the dark is a blank slate for imagination. there could be monsters in your closet, lava on your floor, or even pirates fighting outside your window. as a little kid the dark was one of the things that baffled me, i couldn’t grasp the idea that the dark didn’t mean the most average things turned into man-eating nightmares. i used to imagine my floor was a raging open ocean with sharks swimming in it, and refuse to get off my bed until the lights were on. i guess that’s just part of the mystery of growing up.

jelly

jelly i just so exciting when you really think about the concept of it. it’s jiggly, and bouncy and usually comes in bright colors. i have this memory of punch flavored jell-o from my grandma’s house. whenever i would come there would be these delicate crystal cups of jell-o in the fridge next to the sugar free diet pepsi. she’d sit me down in front of the tv and say, “now you just sit here honey and watch your shows and eat your jell-o. i’ll get you a blanket. need anything else? want more jell-o?” it was overwhelming and lovely…just like jelly. i feel like there’s different definitions for jelly though, some people consider “jelly” to be like jam, while others think of jell-o. for me, it depends on the consistency. but for jam to be jelly, i feel like it has to be grape jelly, because that makes me think of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. as we all know, the jelly in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is almost always grape. and bright purple. i wonder what the distinction between jam and jelly and jell-o is… jam is a preserve. jelly is more jiggly than jam and is usually grape or welchs. and jell-o is refrigerated once it is made. hmm…that’s something interesting to ponder. hope my brain doesn’t turn into jelly thinking about this!

notice

Notice the birds fly across the bright blue sky Notice the bees and humming birds, buzzing and humming over to their favorite flowers Notice the flowers’ pollen gliding across the air as a gush of wind flies past it Notice the people around you, Notice their faces and their emotions Notice the sun and its beam hitting the side of your face, Notice everything.

I notice every little thing about them. I notice the way that they hold hands. I notice the way that they look at each other. I notice the way that they kiss, pushing their tongues into each other’s mouths, like they’re trying to eat the other person, devour them completely. I notice all of those things. I notice them, but they never notice me.
