Fish and chips in batter, golden brown after frying. In Britain, they call fries, chips, and chips, crisps. They spring off the teeth and tongue, piping hot without being too greasy. They go really well with mayonnaise.

dessert

Green globs of jello makes life easy for me. I don’t have to cook; I just to drop it in the microwave. Or of one of the machines in the kitchen, I’m not picky about which. I slide the plates forward towards the kids and close my eyes. They’ll be doing the dishes tonight too.

oak

the single oak tree stood alone in the middle of the field. It had weathered storms in the past but the tornado bearing down on it in the dim distance that was uplifting cows and hurling them high into the air was more than it could withstand. It tried to batten down the hatches but the tornado forged ahead, lifted it high into the sky and flung at the little village nestling in the hillside.
