The area was cordoned off with yellow tape and flashing lights. Promises of danger. A place set apart by the law to keep the masses from tragedy, from carnage, from the remnannts of evil. An area that had once been little more than an uniunteresting stretch of sidewalk was now the unhallowed ground of newborn death.

shootout
westerns. It reminds me of August in the book lonesome dove. or john wayne in True Grit. Absolutely epic older men showing how heroic and manly they really are. The underdogs taking down the young posse.

wade
She waded through the water, softly letting the waves cascade over her slender arms, down her back as she stepped into the deep. She was used to this sort of thing. The still of the night and the cold of the water made her wade deeper into the distance. She wanted nothing now. Just the crashing waves over her head, the silence of her heavy heart…

wasteland
It was a vast, cruel place. Another way of saying that everything had died, and that nobody had survived the massacre. It was horrid, with bloodstains everywhere and a mess of putrid flesh. as the days wore on, he thought about it less and less, just focusing on trying to survive. It was no easy task. First, he had to find food. Then came shelter. The only thing keeping him going was the small leaf that he kept in his pocket. A symbol of hope. New life could begin where old life had ended. It was all a cycle. Nothing more, nothing less.

severe
things are severe in the world we are in the middle of war and natural disasters. Has this alway been the case, but because of mass media we are more aware and exposed to what is going on in the world? Or is this unique to this generation? What does it mean for us as a nation and more importantly as a world culture?

mist
the mist came up behind me, and it enveloped me…I couldn’t escape, it took me by surprise. it floats through the air, as though it wasn’t bound by law or culture. It was free, it was pulling me in.

kite
Strings flying through the air. Puffy white clouds above, and the string disappears into one. When the cloud moves away, you can see a dragon with an elderly woman gripping onto it for dear life. Despite how wrinkly she is, she has a lot of beauty and she is very vivacious.

detour
There was a truck caught in traffic. It was so vast, cars for miles around were stopped in their places because it couldn’t move. The largest traffic jam in the world, they said. So many people had to take detours around this massive, monstrous truck just so they could get to work… an hour late. That was how long it took to get around this horrid contraption. Who would make such a terrible thing?

fireflies
fireflies are small buzzing creatures with two wings and multiple eyes. They fly around often at night because they glow in the dark. They’re very beautiful, though I’ve never actually seen one in person. One movie this word reminds me of is “Grave of the Fireflies”, in which, long story short, a little girl dies in the end among fireflies and stuff. Meow. I really like fireflies, and I think the idea of glowing in the dark is bizarre.

deer
A deer literally ran into my car…I have no idea why they do that. Do they not know how to change direction at all? It’s weird. They go straight, forever. No turning…I wonder sometimes how they get back to where they were.

remember
I remember days of comfort. remembrance is to embrace the past, enjoy it and love it. it’s all you need to learn and enjoy your currency and past. forget forgetting, it’s time to remember everything.

collar
Collar – leaves no scope for you. Submission or are you putting me in a neat colour-coded category? Stifling, close, too regulation, too suffocating – yes, it’s shorthand for suffocation.

bars
today is the day i am breaking down walls, breaking down doors, breaking breaking breaking the bars of this cage. i am a free bird once more. my wings spread far and wide and i feel wind, i feel courage, i feel triumphant and above all else. nothing can hold me back. i am the only thing that can stop me.

destination
destination unknown. knowledge is definitely not power here. for knowing makes me dispensable. if you know where i’m going, don’t tell me before the breath goes out… i have already ended.

chrome
chrome – a new tube of colour discovered one childhood afternoon. a new book read one morning. a new club one rainy night. an edgy, paced, rough feel to the word.

infect

crown
The king ruled his land with an iron fist. The queen hers with love and laugher. The prince instituted an anarchy and the princess a parliament. Girls rock.
