weathered

warn. battered. When you’ve stood in the wind all day and your hair feels a strange texture. Un-kept. Lost. Wind. Rain. Lost.

sound

the sound of your breath is my favourite. as i hear the rise and fall in the morning, the gentle rhythm as your heart beats through your chest. I rest my head upon your chest and listen. my favourite sound is listening to your existence, knowing that you choose to spend it with me.

barrel

Barrel roll. Do a barrel roll! For a short period of time, you couldnt go anywhere: a school hallway or facebook or anywhere without seeing or hearing DO A BARREL ROLL. I didn’t and still don’t know what it means, even after I googled it. Google told me it was a type of flip, but why would the stoners be so concerned with everyone doing flips and shit?

soil

dirt brown dirty earth fresh free nature life plants flowers herbs rock ground rock pebbles the start of something beautiful. the simplicity of beat that nature can provide. perfect. simple wonderful. something people can find gross, little do they know that it is something so mysteriously great. its one of the few things earth can providethat gets us closer to magic. the fact that is can build so much, in both small and large quantities.

sate

Oceans pour and pour from the horiaon, the inexorable waves pounding the shores of my mind and home. There is nothing so large, nothing so powerful, nothing like the crashing of the sea on a rainy day. It slakes the thirst of my mind, to come back from dusty wanderings, and see it there.

thought

a little hard to pin down. no matter what a circular spiral are there other kinds of spirals? something to think about. a word for everything but it still might not work just right, might not all fall into place, might not end up the way the mind could capture it with less thought.

somebody

Why can’t we just go back to how things were, maybe I was ignoring the fact that you actually liked me, but that I let it go, because I value our friendship a lot. I don’t know, it would be easier if you would open up now.

fawn

My favorite movie as a kid was bambi and this reminds me of innocence and purity and how lovely kids see the world when now we are kind of just jaded beyond recognition. I want to be bambi again. I think if everyone looked back to their favorite childhood movie they’d be in better shape.

afraid

“Do not be afraid of who you are.. there are far better things to worry about.” The quote stared up at her face from the paper it was lying on, written in blue ink. Who ever comes up with quotes?’ She asked herself. ‘Winston Churchill but who else, do you have to be an important figure in society or something to write one?”

whether

Whether friends or enemies, everybody is important in your life. Whether they have taken everything from you or given you something wonderful, your life is changed because of them.

turbine

The first thing I think of is a plane. The wind that flows through the engines and the wings. and just how it all blends together. then my mind immediately goes to crash flight investigations and how planes crash. and how they name all the parts including turbines.

motion

motion. Such a simple word. Though also complex. It is the base in which we form our life around. Putting thoughts in motion. Putting actions in motion. And putting ourselves in motion.

saturday

Saturday morning. Wake up- just barely -with a cup of coffee filled with far too much creamer. I wipe the sleep from my eyes and try to think of things to do for the day, but my mind goes blank. I stare out the window, squinting my eyes and blowing a soft stream of air into my coffee, and accept that this day that would normally be so long-awaited and joyful will just be another lonely day with nothing much to do.

crust

it lifts up the sides of pies and wounds. it crinkles and breaks and rips and heals and falls to the floor. the crust of the Earth is what keeps us alive and keeps us from the flames

soups

The soups were bubbling and boiling in the seven huge pots on the stove, here at the soup kitchen it is Soup Day which basically means just that. We serve the poor and homeless soup and bread. Claire, the woman who runs the organisation bakes the bread at home, and everyone loves them. Its winter so we like giving the people food to warm their bellies. Some of the people who work at the soup kitchen believe that it gives them hope when they eat something warm. And maybe that’s true, when there’s a warm light,, the darkness and cold seeps away.

fractures

He fractures his heart, and lays on the ground soaking in sorrow a and writhing in pain.

Broken, broken, broken all is broken, all is gone, all is lost and all is past.

framework

The framework around the poem was what my dad would call ‘exquisite’. It was pretty nice, all gold and leaves winding around the frame. The poem wasn’t all that great, a fairly dull one by a guy called Frank James.

grind

Sweat, beading at my neck as I felt his heavy breath against me. The music pounded in my ears, the air pulsing through me. Our hips gyrated together, grinding with a burning, unending passion.

cap

It was a silly little cap. No one knew why he wore it, but for some reason he never took it off. People spent hours—days even—trying to figure out why he never removed his cap, but to no avail. He never took it off and that was the simple beauty of it.

necessity

I have a necessity for almost everything in life. I feel that love is the most important necessity. And also having the “Bare Necessities” is enough for me to be happy as quoted from Disney. I love disney. It’s a necessity that makes me feel unbearably happy as it brings me back to my childhood. Necessity is something that means that you need it to live.

dilemma

The dilemma was that no matter how hard Evie worked, it never showed. She would re-stack a pike of books and the shelf would still look untouched, she’d try to be original when looking from a recipe, but it would taste no different. None of her work ever showed.

oil

The oil in my air stuck persistnently to my greasy hands. I haven’t had a chance to bathe in weeks… This chase seemed never ending. I stopped my light jog and rested in front of a puddle. I scooped up a handful of water and splashed it on my tired face. I glanced into the puddle, and noticed movement in the reflection behind me, they were here.

cactus

Green prickly plant. Desert air and the smell of cactus flowers. Cracked earth under foot and burning sky over head. Far away, it looks like a person with raised arms, close up, it looks like a dangerous object.

princess

Juliette the princess leaped out of her seat, her face snarling with anger. “You dare say a single word about my family?” she spat at the rude prince. he flinched back as she hurled a bowl of piping hot soup at his face. “I’m sorry princess, i didn’t mean it, i swear!” she was even more infuriated by his pitiful mew of apology.

view

I glanced at the view behind my frantic back. Guns shooting, knives jabbing, cannons booming. I raced up the village streets as fast as my legs would carry me, i couldn’t stop until i reached the castle. The mauling of the battle let out cries of war and pain as i scrambled hurriedly up the road, praying that i wouldn’t become a victim.
