the president of the united states must first be nominated by the members of his party. of course, this nomination doesn’t mean much. what does it reflect? his capabilities? his qualities as a human being? the way he was brought up? rather, it reflects his popularity. as is commonly known, sometimes the blundering oafs of the playground are the popular ones as opposed to the small, smart ones. it’s truly ridiculous

Grandmother always dug up her bulbs in the spring. She would place them in nylon stockings and hang them in the front window on the porch. That porch always smelled of earth and diesel fuel.
