violent

He shook and shuddered ceaselessly. Vibrations racked his body with a violence that even he had not expected, he gasped for air but still the hands would not let go. “You have a strong will for life my boy,” said the man “but none may take my stock with out punishment.”

trophy

A trophy wife. That’s what she felt like. Nothing more than an object to stand there and look beautiful. Every time she opened her mouth he laughed, as if she couldn’t possibly say anything of value.

bow

The bow of the boat lurched uncontrollably upwards. It was so rough it felt as though it was going to reach the sky and beyond, and in doing so throw all of them out into the raging, green ocean. Wind whipped past her face blowing the long straw-like strands into tangles she knew she was going to hate removing later – if she got the chance.

maroon

It was a deep, dark colour, something one would never expect to find in nature. True maroon. Dan reached out tentatively, fingertips barely brushing the petals, as though to physically touch it would be to remove this wonder forever.

stem

She stemmed the blood flow as quick as she could but it just kept coming out. Not oozing but pumping voraciously and full of life, until the vessel that contained it (or tried to) would be no more. Her hand was over his heart. It beat once then it finally stopped.

honest

You said to trust you and I did. You said I won’t hurt you. I love you too much to leave you. I will stand by you through this. And I thought you were being honest. But you lied.

train

Steam pours out, power, uncontrollable hurtling away down the tracks. It is impossible to get off and still harder to hold on.

limo

Anna stepped out of the limo. She had picked the dress especially for this event, learned to walk in heels and become a new self. The eyes on her were intimidating but she would do as asked.

backpack

It was very full, but there was still more to come. His life belongings, it was harder to choose than he ever would have thought. Starting again. It was all he would have to remind him.

montage

Fragments pieced together. Shattered moments of time bit by bit forming a whole. Scarred. Damaged. Never entirely one.

remember

I remember it well… memory, is not always a blessing. Some days we wish for the best memory in the world, and others, it would be much better to sink into oblivion.

booth

The toll booth was tall and angry looking. Demanding. It commanded the room, capturing everybody’s attention. John sat up straighter. It was time.

domestic

She was unsure about her new role. A wife now. Generally that meant time to grow up, throw away all that childish bevaviour she loved. It was just so, so domestic. It wasn’t her. But she would try.

mole

It was surprisingly well hidden. As it was the main thing that gave him away he was very impressed. And relieved. Nothing could stop his escape now.

tempted

It was so shiny. And beautiful. And whole. He had to have it. It didn’t matter that the car payment was due on monday. Who needed a car anyway? Not when he could have the sword…

curious

It was an odd shape for a biscuit but I picked it up anyway. Curious. It was also very solid. “Try it,” he urged. I looked suspiciously at him. Well, he hadn’t let me down. Not yet anyway. I lifted it to my mouth and began to nibble.
