wonder
Life is such a precarious, itchy thing. So many people wonder how they got here, what they are doing here…why does it matter? You are. Just be!

smile
What is the last thing you thought about before dropping off to sleep last night? Whatever it was, it put a soft smile on your face, and relaxed you. I like to say my prayers in bed, all snuggly and warm, having a sweet talk with the Lord before I drift off to sleep. Put’s a smile on my face.

train
Really? Train? I did this yesterday. Same word. So should we interrupt your train of thought oneword, to get you to pick a different word?

there are left handed clowns and right handed ones. some clowns ride on the backs of elephants or horses, some ride on toy trains. some people are scared of clowns, i’m sorry and wish they could like them, they don’t seem harmful to me but you never know!

rise
Capture the moment a cloud clears the mountaintop, in your viewfinder. Climb to the top of the rise and take a shot of the seal playing with it’s pup. Nature offers such opportunity.
The lemony yellow of the sunlight as it moves across flowers and leaves. The sparkle of the water at the lakes edge as you try to see through to the bottom.

plaid
i have no reason to believe that we will ever get paid for the work we did today. I made 4 skirts, all of them out of red plaid. The seams are SO hard to line up…the big and small lines have to match just so. Well, I can be glad I finished. Maybe I’ll get a referral out of it.

chalkboard
Footsteps echo on bare boards, silvered with age and dry. No children crowd the halls, no chalk marks on the chalkboard. This old schoolhouse sits empty now, the students long gone on to live fruitful lives and the teachers to retirement and other such adventures.

despair
i could cry or weep, i could hang my head in total despair but you know what? I believe in God and I know that I am saved by Grace, through Faith. So I can hold my head up high, smell the roses and I don’t have to worry about where I’m going and when I’ll get there.

torch
Adam slipped out the back door and padded quietly to the garden gate. He’d hidden a torch there earlier…ah there it was. funny it felt light…why someone had taken the batteries! Why would they take the batteries and leave the torch? If they wanted to foils his plans they would have taken the torch too. Adam remembered his brothers and their toy trucks, and knew what happened to the batteries. Now the question is, ‘who put them up to it?’

curious
I can’t imagine a lovelier thought. a pretty meadow, softly lit by the sun, plenty of sun dappled shadows at the edge of a cool forest. Aren’t you at least curious about where this might be? Only in my mind, i’m afraid, since I have to work today and am getting ready to give the dog his medicine.

forgotten
I left the party early. gone, but not forgotten apparently. someone noticed I had left without my coat and liberated me from it, should I decide it was cold and need to return for it. fine, fine whatever. who needs a coat when you only have 1 hour left to live? Oh wait no, that’s right. the bomb is in the coat pocket. so the thief is about to get the surprise of their … oh. Well I know who had the coat now…would never have thought that of her!

wasteland
I haven’t heard that song in years. The one sung by that angst filled half baked teenager, about the wasteland of his heart? I remember he had spiked hair, and earrings in his mouth and black stuff all around his eyes. I remember his mother crying when he came home with all that crap on too. He didn’t keep the look though, now he’s explaining to his teens why they shouldn’t do it. lol.

eyeliner
what on earth did you put all over your face?? Mom asked the 2 yr old, trying not to laugh. I’m pwetty mommy, pwetty girl. The little one replied. Mom wiped the eyeliner from the little girls mouth and the lipstick from her cheeks. Her hair would have to be washed, it has a copious amount of powder all through it. Maybe I should take a picture for the ‘wedding album’ she won’t want to see in 20 yrs….

nail
GRASS! Mow the grass not the flower bed! Mr. Agrams hollered at Jamie as he mowed the yard, taking his attention away from the front of the mower for just a second or two. That’s all it took for Jamie to miss the pile of nails sitting near the edge of the bed and to run it over. Mr. Agrams looked weird now, spikes sticking up out of his chest, arms, legs and head. There was an awful racket coming from the bottom of the mower.

affection
What other way can you interpret that? A casual smile, a little wave, hi how are you. Well in response to your seeming lack of affection, I say to you: stuff it. I was looking for a boyfriend when I walked in. I’ll be looking for one when I walk out.

railroad
I ran down the tracks, step, hop. Step, hop. I could hear a train in the distance, I didn’t mean to get caught up here on the tressel. Just keep going, he’s too far away to scare, just keep moving. I reach the far end just as the train comes around the corner, and I back well away from the tracks. He comes blasting across the little bridge, horn screaming at me to stay away from the tracks you idiot! The engineer’s face is white and his eyes wide as he flies by…I think I scared him as much as myself! Never. Again.

magnet
I hear a noise coming from the other room. I am small, but I am still going to honor my duty as guard and soldier…I creep into the kitchen and hear it again! A small scraping noise. There it is! One of the magnets is trying to escape from the fridge door! Must. Stop. Now…

helping
I saw the last of him yesterday. All that was left was his hands. Those loving, helping hands. He fell so quickly, the blades of the turbine chopped so cleanly – it all happened so fast. All that was left was his hands and a little bit of his left wrist.

adapt
we are as a race able to set ourselves apart from the monkeys with the power of rationalization. we can adapt our view of ourselves to match what our minds think we need it to be.

siren
The chocolate called to me with the siren call of silky luscious delicate candies that only a chocolate lover can hear. Like velvet on my tongue, the candy bar melted slowly, sweetly. With exquisite joy I closed my eyes and let the chocolate have me! Take me, take me now!

octopus
I love my little Octopus, he’s slimy and slippery too. I caught him when he escaped from the Sacramento Zoo.
He plays with me and runs away squirting all his ink. I wish he’d get back in the tank ’cause that stuff really stinks.

chatter
The likelihood of being able to hear an actual broadcast amidst all this chatter is slight. People are screaming, car alarms blaring, it’s hard to hear anything at all. The tremors still come, thunderously, with alarming regularity. There’s not a building left standing anywhere. Is the entire earth breaking apart?

left
Try as I might, I cannot see the significance of the left lane in a traffic stop situation where aw hell this is stupid. not into it.

walk
You must walk, don’t run. I hear that all the time at the school. It no sooner comes out of a teachers mouth than you see another kid break loose and run across the lawn or down the sidewalk by the buses. One of these days someone is going to fall down and get hurt! Yea, and you know what? Then they will get up and get on the bus and go home. Maybe they’ll think twice about running next time, but if not who cares? They’re the ones hurting themselves by not listening.

watch
don’t think about all those things you fear. Just be glad to be here. ” that’s all the lady said to me, as she watched a big machine unfold itself in front of her. Hayling. Awesome utube video.

without
I like my life. I live in a valley between two large, old mountains. I have running water, but no electricity. It’s a quiet, peaceful life, without electronic distractions like a tv or stuff like that. I have a sat phone, so if there’s an emergency I can get help. That was a necessity, as I live more than 2 hours away from the nearest road.
