hill
They sat at the top of the hill, peering down at the purples and reds and yellows and blues that made up the sunset. It was perfect, regardless of the enormous mass of water heading for them, regardless of the burning city below, regardless of the scorching sky incinerating their skin and bones and organs: the sunset was beautiful on that final night.

evidence
evidence is the conviction of innocent felons in today’s corrupted justice system. In a government derived from the wealthy and more educated who can be trusted that they are not being taken advantage of? And the real problem is that if the wealthy more educated don’t do it, who will? Where does the suppression meet the ends of innocence?

throw
Throw. Interesting word for today, isn’t it? I can’t say I honestly have a story for this one. Wait, one comes to mind.
Eight years old at baseball practice, my dad tells me not to be afraid of the ball. The next pitch, that fateful throw, I find myself bawling on the bench after being hit directly in the eye.
Throw.

delay
Delay delay delay. It’s all she ever did. Of course, it was with good reason. She would be watching Oprah, and I’d want a sammich. “In a minute,” she would say, every time that I asked her. It was always a minute, just add the delay. We started calling that minute mom time, because it just never ended. Always delayed.

memory
It’s a funny thing, memory. Some of our best ones are just a second away. But the worst ones are there just behind them, lurking in the dark waiting until you least expect it to come and slaughter your mood. I wish it was as simple as we could make the memory out to be. We only remember the most significant parts. What was going on really? What was the lead up to the lead up. Events start somewhere, don’t they?

confusion
confusion reigned upon the innocent villagers. Their water ran red as blood and the sky darkened with the smoke puring from the piles of corpses that littered the streets of their fair village. All they could do was look up and ask why.

sour
The milk is sour, despite it’s perfect white consistency. The bitterness flows over the crest of my tongue, lapping at the back of my throat like a diseased wave. A grimace crosses my face, followed by a gag.
Why didn’t I smell it beforehand?

Balm is something that you would use to apply to burns, dry skin, etc. It makes everything better when it feels like your skin is dying. So much better.

swell
Swell? Well, when I think of, “swell”, I think of me. I’m never great; I’m just swell. I’m a typical, boring person, surrounded by a boring world. How odd. Anyway, that’s swell for you, I s’pose.

bunny
the bunny was hopping through the forest, when suddenly it discovered a giant lake. Curious and thirsty, the bunny hopped over to the water’s edge. It dipped it’s head toward the clear surface for a sip, but just as it was about to quench its thirst, a BIG FUCKING OCTOPUS CAME OUT AND ATE IT!
