the place I go to visit with friends, conduct business outside of my home office. A place that I enjoy a cup of coffee or iced tea and can kick back and know the internet will be a bit slow. The environment of helping the homeless in the area that I’m sitting in reminds me how lucky I am and what a cool place I’m sitting at as they provide a cup of hot water for tea the same as a paid cup of joe.

I looked down at my boots, the red barely shining through all the mud. I don’t know what happened to that damn bridge, but somebody needed to fix it before I went on a rampage. These were expensive. I’m so sick of mud all over my things.

I was standing outside of the building. It was made of hard red brick, ivy was beginning to grow up the sides. It all looked so ordinary. I never knew what would await me inside.

Tired and lonely, she was withered in the cold dark room. The constant wind had hit her so hard over the past few hours that nothing was left but her frail bones. The young girl couldn’t even bring herself to stand through another second of withering torture.

I don’t speak. I only think, i never tell anyone about my problems when i can, i might one day But i believe people will see me as less perfect then they think And i don’t want to let them down, and i like the idea that they don’t know my history Or my past, my thoughts or my mind I know my mind, and It scares me sometimes. I’d talk to myself, speaking from the heart, and it would upset me. So i don’t do it to others.

simple
There is nothing simple about being simple. It takes work. You have to consciously decide to not be over the top. You can’t just wake up simple- no one is. Humans are too complex for that. You have to wake up and try to be drab. Pick drab clothes. Don a drab attitude. Be entirely not you. The human condition is to complex to be so utterly simple.

I saw both of my friends walking thier dog talking about life. I said hello and waved. They said hello back and I continued my walk. Both of them were wearing green shirts. How neat! I love them both because they are so nice.

I don’t want to be late. Being late is scary, it’s a symbolism of letting people down, of letting the world down. Of being so caught in the shuffle and the tide of life that you can’t keep up. That you can’t reach your destination, that you’re lost forever at sea. Being late marks the sign of impending doom. Of distrust among those who count on you, on the crumbling of whatever it is you are supposed to be doing. You are supposed to be there, not here. Not here, running and frantically searching for a way to that place. But you are not there. You are here, and trapped and lost and it is beyond your control but you can’t help it. You are late. Left behind. Lost in the sea and the tide, lost in the struggle of mankind and it’s perception of time.

the steps we have take surprised me. To think we could really do this, really let our hearts do what they wanted. To be ok with you kissing another woman and coming back home to me. Teeth. What trouble they can be! I just put my retainers in. Sounds like a teenager, right? Nope. I’m thirty! I didn’t get braces until I was 26! I still wear retainers once or twice a week because I paid too much money on these teeth not to maintain. Word to parents! Get your kids braces when they’re still kids!
