boots
She walked in the door and removed her sneakers. To their left sat his boots, still caked with the mud of last week’s rain. She slipped them on and chuckled for a moment at the the sight, but the laughter soon turned to tears. So much can change in a moment.

cities
Bg, full, and crowded to the brim. Noisy, polluted, claustrophobic. Many people, many places, history. Markets, homes, suburbs. Roads stretching everywhere.

eternal
The panda bear is little more than a black and white carnivore, yet we spend much time and resources trying to save its bamboo-munching butt. Nothing is eternal. Maybe it should try some other leaves.

director
Sometimes I think that being a director would be exciting, but then I remember how much work is involved. Being a director is like being a photographer who has to place every blade of grass in the right place. And then add a soundtrack.

tales
Tall tales. Wives’ tales. Wind-in-sail tales. Tell me this or tell me that tales. Was it the animals or the people. Only Pi knows.

July
july, the month that settles in on a hot summer breeze. the month in which our founding fathers declared our independence. the month right before school starts. the month that it all began. you and me, we blew in with that breeze as well, and only today can i tell you everything that i wanted to then.

himself
he wasn’t himself. the man who would do anything to protect her from harm. no, instead he was the one inflicting it. unintentionally, but still. he was hurting her in a way that nobody else could, in a way that cut deeper than any knife ever could.

measured
the time was measured in minutes and hours, but really, for her, it was measured by the amount of times that he took her breath away. when he told her that he loved her, when he finally proposed, and when he told her that all of those things were not true anymore and he was leaving her. Both good and terrible, those moments are the ones that seemed to stop in time and take forever to pass. all she can hope for now is that eventually something else will come along to teal her warm breath again.

draw
To draw is a simple pleasure. For an artist to feel the paper beneath their hand, the pencil held in their grasp. There is nothing they like more. To draw and create something that the world has never seen is an extraordinary thing, and for an artist a very dear one as well.

spent
The afternoons activity had left her spent, but when she looked up again, she saw his face just a few inches away from her own. No matter how tired she was nothing would stop her from kissing this boy. As she leaned forward his hand found its way to the back of her neck and when their lips finally met it was even more than she had thought it would be.

teach
to teach is to change the world one student at a time. i would love to do that. to wake up everyday knowing that my job was to go and teach the children who will someday be in charge. the ones who will make discoveries. the ones who will bring us to peace in times of war. those who will become the teachers of the next generation.

teeth
I love white teeth. I’ve always wished mine were whiter. Their natural coloring is a yellow-ish tint, and according to the dentist, there’s nothing I can do about it. At least the braces straightened them out. All that thumb sucking over the years really messed with em, who knew. Teeth are one of those things that can make or break a person. Bad teeth= I will never ever kiss you. Not in a million years. Sorry hot British guy…just kidding, I think I can make an exception.

fresh
the freshness in the air was a welcome change after the dark and musty basement. it wasn’t until she felt the breeze on her face once more that she realized just how much she had lost while imprisoned in that dreadful place.

vote
One vote. One chance for One person to make a difference. everyone has one but we all have to choose to use it. if everyone were to go out and make their voice heard we may see a change in our world.

fawn
Any girl would have fawned over him. But to her it was more than just the looks, it was that something that was hidden below the surfice that only she could see. They shared something. That something something would prove to be more important than anything else that i could tell you about from this moment in time.

affairs
So I got home, and there he was, sitting on the couch like the lazy bum he is.
I dropped my purse on the counter in a huff and he glanced up to me. “What’s up with you?” he slurred.
An irritated hand on my hip, I whipped my head towards him and glared. “You know.” I snarled.

people
I hate people so much.
My friend Zach recently broke up with his girlfriend. They weren’t working out and they both were miserable together. Good for him, right? No. He just texted me in a flurry saying they kissed and totally love each other again. He doesn’t realize that they’ll be apart in about a week, and he’ll be all depressed again very shortly. Ugh. I guess he has to make his own decisions, but still. He asks for my advice and doesn’t use it…I don’t know how to help him….

blindness
the world around is never truly seen. we don’t use our eyes hardly at all. the beauty around us is wasted on our blindness, and it’s extremely disappointing to someone who is truly at a loss for sight. this treasure that is always so near to us is a wonder that cannot be replicated. i only wish that these eyes could see that which so many take forgranted.

puncture
the wound was not minor, she could tell by the way the puncture had become swollen and red, and by the way the blood was refusing to stop. in a few more minutes help would arrive and she would be saved. Hopefully that is.

dare
“Trust me,” that’s what he said but to me it sounded more like a dare. Was I willing to risk everything for one night with him.

key
It was an insignificant thing. Something small and easily forgotten, but when the key was laid upon her open palm it rested there with a weight that was not easily shaken.

holder
I ran around the empty room, holding the object. Didn’t bother to look at it. Couldn’t. It was my job, it was what I did, that was my purpose. Couldn’t stop. I had to keep moving, keep holding whatever it was that I was assigned, and pass it off. It was a hard life, but it was mine. People don’t bother me about it, I don’t bother them.

distributor
The woman looked around. Where was he? His dark brown hair, tall frame. That perfectly tailored suit; much too expensive for him. Where was he? The Distributor. He always delivered just the right thing. Just the right words. He distributed them to people in need. The Distributor.

straw
when i was a girlscout, we sang a chant about a bug crawling up a straw of a fountain drink. it always completely grossed me out, i have never looked at a straw the same way. straws are great fun though. i wonder if they would make good bubble blowers? i love the ones that look like barbers poles. they make drinks instantly more fun
