duration
the time passes slowly. And we all wait. Hunger gnaws at my stomach and tiredness weighs at my brain. We sit, for the duration of the lecture, scribbling occasional words, hoping that they are relevant…But we all know we will never revisit these notes.

dismissed
Once upon a time there was a lovely princess named Genny. She wasn’t lovely in the idea that most people might think. Her beauty was not renowned, and she was a little plump. But she was lovely in heart and spirit, caring for all of those around her…
CLASS DIMISSED!
Oops. Gotta go.

Dismissed can be both positive and negative. Positive when you’re in school and your class is ‘dismissed’. Negative/ignorant when a person’s idea or thought is dismissed.

brunch
They sat down, first time in 3 years. “Have you eaten anything today?” “No” A rueful smiled appeared at the older mans lips. “Alright. How about we grab brunch and talk about what you’ve been doing for three years.” “Sounds perfect.”

swing
dancing, like flying through the room. Hand in hand spinning and swinging to the music, sweet memories of double timing to “somewhere over the rainbow” and dancing with sweet old men and a guy just a little to old for me but still sweet on me. good class and great dancing.

They both swung on the swing, trying to out-do eachother. When one got higher than the other, the other would then work to catch up. Soon, they fell into a pattern of synchronicity, up and down, down and up. They grabbed eachothers hand, once they reached the height of their swings, jumped, and together they tumbled back to the earth.

They swung, both kicking their legs, trying to out-do eachother. If one took the lead, the other would soon catch up. Eventually, the two ended up, swinging in perfect time together, up and down. Down and up. At the very top the swing, they let go, grabbed eachothers hand, and tumbled down to earth. Together

We did cocaine in the treehouse first. Then we went on the swings. It was the hyperness of a child all over again with the added thrill and fear and guilt and pleasure of drugs. Then it was just two people on swings near the black, black ceiling of night.

weave
I had a cat once.It slept with me all the time. One day it pulled my hair. I called my hair my weave. When I did so at school people made fun of me for it telling me I couldn’t say that because I’m white. I didn’t care. Badass much?

gallery
the woman missed painting. galleries like this reminded her of the wonderful works of art she used to create. she longed to feel the canvas under her brush, to lose herself in her work, and finally, finally be free. she missed knowing everything would be ok when she was connected to the art. it cleansed her soul.

clue
Clue. Reminds me of the board game I used to play as a kid with my best friend and her little brother and sister. Those were the best times, when we were all so innocent and new, taking snack breaks between different board games: chess, Risk, Sorry. Clue. I miss those days.

the walls were closing in. white blank walls just staring at me with glee. I was trapped. I rocked back and forth hoping to escape somehow, not realizing that rocking wasn’t getting me anywhere. I had to see what was around the corner but there wasn’t one.

return
I stared at the large airplane zooming across the sky. Tears formed in my eyes. He’s…. here. I smiled as he stepped off the large plane. He has returned.

centerpiece
The centerpiece was perfect, my mother thought.
Thanksgiving day, and I know she was trying. She tries real hard. Its just not in the way most would expect, or think is “right.” But nevermind the lack of thanksgiving food or a spotless house.
No, forget that. Because the centerpiece was perfect. Her obsessive-compulsive mind made sure of it.

My mom used to always tell me to stop slouching as a kid. I eventually ended up having a small case of scoliosis cured through seeing a chiropractor in middle school. Hm. Mother knows best.

rules
In the book Rules, there’s a nice girl name Katherine who has lots of rules for her little brother who is autistic so he will not embarrass her. She is very nice and makes new friends in the book despite her brother’s autism and it is one of my favorite books.

hearts
Once, long long ago, there was a princess named Princess Christina. She had three hearts, which many thought was weird, but she didn’t care. She was known for her beauty and love of music and writing. Every day, she’d sing outside and put all three of her hearts into it.
