I often think about what being a husband will be like. Will I be a good one? I’m eager to be the best man I can be to my wife, and to our children. It seems as though all of the hurdles I still have to jump through pale in comparison to my duty as a man to my wife and family; neither of which I have yet.

I would like to visit a friend of mine who lives in Spirit Lake. I can’t visit her for I don’t have my license. I haven’t seen her in months. She’s always on my mind too. Things are kind of awkward between us. She has a boyfriend and I have a girlfriend.

The amount of time I put in to it. The amount of money I poured down the drain. The amount of lives lost. And it all amounted to nothing. I was a failure. The board would have my head. Not the expression, literally. I knew when I signed my name on the contract that this company was known for not tolerating failure. And here I was. The biggest failure to ever grace their company.

The twin towers, a representation of the world market, were struck on this day eleven years ago. And since then, we have entered into two wars over it. We entered Iraq and Afghanistan to fight those who would do us harm, and to bring them to justice for what they did. We will always remember the men and women who lost those lives on that day, and the many brave souls who have died fighting for them since.

In both cases there is a similar meaning of bringing things together permanently.

Banks were my first experience with the concept of love. My mother and I walked into the Wells Fargo on main street and waited to be greeted. They knew how to spot fresh meat from a mile away and perhaps my sponge bob square pants shirt was a dead giveaway that I had no idea what I was doing.
