Looking out for the welfare of my clients today…I have a huge backlog of emails and things to to. Trying to catch up and get current instead of putting out fires. Fire managment is more exciting, but too stressful.

reference
References for jog hunting are extremely important. Ask first and know what your reference is going to say. I have seen people get surprised by getting a marginal or bad reference. The assume the person will only say wonderful things.

placed
I recently did a story for the paper about a 13-year-old girl who place 2nd in the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition at the regional level. She got to complete in Kansas City and be introduced on the field at halftime of the KC Chiefs game. she said the best part of the whole day for was getting to see Peyton Manning. He walked by her in the tunnel as the team exited the field and the PPK kids waited to go on.

barrel
Barrel makes me think of parties. The goofy ones where they play the Beer Barrel Polka. Must have celebrating on my mind because it’s January 1. New Year’s Day. I’m working a little and screwing around on computer games a lot.

draw
A tree grew in the middle of the city, surrounded by all that was gray and all that was sad. One day a boy came along and thought if that tree ever were to disappear people should remember it so he drew the tree and in his drawing the leaves were golden and the branches were silver and all who saw it dreamt of a world to come.

walls
Everyone puts up walls. In their mind, behind their eyes. Trying desperately to shut others out and in some cases, keep themselves in. Never wanting that vulnerability that possesses us all to spill out, to become apparent.

salvation
Salvation…please save me from all the Christianity dripping from my Facebook newsfeed. I’ve been able to stop the goofy emails for the most part, but posting photos is all the rage now on FB. I would say a third of them are about religion.

refuse
The child refused to be quiet. Even with the parent pleading and cajoling. I don’t go shopping in order to listen to spoiled children scream at the top of their lungs. I walked over to them and slapped the woman.

side
One can side with the Republicans or one can side with the democrats. Or one can have an open mind, making decisions based on each individual item as it comes up. Wouldn’t it be better to not have sides to take?

event
Events can be just about anything that’s going on. Seems that it was a word reserved for big happenings–parties, conferences and and the like. Now the calendar on my computer calls everything an event, even if I’m just supposed to be doing laundry.

losses
SOME PEOPLE DONT CARE WHILE OTHERS ARE THE ONES THAT CAN REALLY BE TRAUMATIZED BY SOMETHING THAT OTHERS SEE AS SO SIMPLE OR SO MEANINGLESS. A LOSS MAKES PEOPLE APPRECIATIVE IN THE LONG RUN; THE BEST IS YET TO COME, AS ALWAYS.

Why do fail to follow instructions? As a junior high teacher I reminded and reminded students. But some of the worst offenders are adults. There are so many adults who don’t follow instructions and it perplexes me!
