This was not fun anymore, Jess thought as she turned another dark corner. Her flashlight was dimming and soon she would have no light. She wondered if Josh and Becky left her behind, if this was some kind of prank. She couldn’t understand how she;d ever agreed to this. She was angry at herself. A light came on behind her.

secret
Something you keep. Or don’t. The value of a secret isn’t really relevant once it is spoken. The only thing that can ever be a secret is anything you keep between you and yourself. Self. Nothing is never not known. Humans aren’t suppose to not know things. It’s in our dynamic to even know, feel, when we don’t know something we’re suppose to.

comfort
I feel so cold without you here to comfort me. i still feel your arms around me, still hear your heart beating. I wonder if you’re warm where you are. if she comforts you like you wouldn’t let me. you turned me away. i take comfort in the thought that we had anything at all, though. i miss you. i miss your comfort.

The iron gates close behind me. There is no turning back. The woods before me are dark and haunted. But the world I used to know has turned its back on me forever. I must set out into this forest, alone. I don’t know what I will find but I know that it needs to be discovered.

They warned me. They all warned me. But I didn’t listen. As usual. I had to dive in for myself. But they warned me. They remind me of their warnings now that it’s over. I wish I listened. But how could I just play it safe? I had to know, even though they warned me.

edge
the edge is a place you dont want to be. you can be pushed there or you can go yourself but either way its the darkest place you can be in your life. its terrifying and you know that one step means the ends. no one should ever step off the edge. it means the end and theres always another way out.

it’s the final countdown. and i really hate finals. i just had two midterms this week – almost as bad as a final. not quite as bad though. they cause me much anxiety. grrrr. i just don’t see why there needs to be a final anything. it’s dumb. you know? especially tests. and final papers.

I like to have things in order, but i am not very organized. I really like file folders but i dont think that there are enough file folders in the world to organize all of my stuff.

standard
the standards that are put in place in a society are supposed to keep everyone on the same level. A bit of discretion and critical thinking is recommended in regard to most standards. Who is to say that the government knows what is best?

My dad’s favorite movie is Major Payne. It is really funny, because every single time we watch it, he has to quote the entire movie. He sounds surprisingly similar to major payne when he quotes him too. That is one of the memories that I will always have of my daddy. I am a daddy’s girl, and I always try to find things that I can remember about him when he is gone.
