i am so mad! so angry. it’s hard to go from the working busting ass mode and calm down and not beat my head against the wall. 12 yrs i’ve worked there and they are throwing us out to the highest bidder! no pensions, no benefits, pay cut in half. i hope they feel this crunch too! They suck so bad. so. bad.

there are so many lovely things in this world. one of the longest and thinnest, with the neatest lines on it is the balcony. twisty beauty, curvy lines and rising attitude, what a rising star! life is greatest when your balcony overlooks something.

i won’t gloss over the truth. my teenager is a fucking slob. i am so tired of cleaning up after her. tired of the messy kitchen she didn’t clean AGAIN. tired of the bedroom door i have to keep closed because i’m afraid something will jump out of there and kill innocent passersby. wtf?

I am fresh out of lerts. Mom said go to the store and pick me up a lert. You’ve got to have a lert on hand just in case of emergency, like the toilet won’t flush, or the vacuum sucks up your favorite underwear. Know what I mean?

I hear you knocking, but you can’t come in. I hear you knocking – remember that old song? It had a great beat, and to a laughing teenager driving a car while loaded on booze it was the most hilarious thing she had ever heard. The next noises weren’t quite so funny…but there was no one left to hear them.

I let go. I just, relaxed my hands and began to fall. Surprising how easy it was once I had begun. The muffin sat on the table where I’d left it, my drink beside it. I watched the floor come toward me, this certain spot where I’d gouged it with my chair getting larger and larger.
