stems are a bottom part of a lower, they hold the flower in place, and lets ithe fower dsatnd up. all flowers have stems, without stems they are nothing and just fall. some flowers have short stems, some have long stems, and some stems are so short that the flower lookls like it is just sticking out of the ground.
