  3. I’ts my birthday today. My mom forgot it. It amuses me in a way, watching her go through the day, not remembering the day I was introduced to this world, the day she gave birth to me. How it must feel to be so oblivious to something that is on your daughter’s mind half the time. But I understand, she’s getting old, she’s sick and I should be understanding, so I am. I bet you my dad’s not gonna remember either. But he’s older and he has a lot on his mind. I can’t expect him to remember the day I was born if he can’t even remember the way my name is spelled. So I’ll be understanding, I will. I’ll pretend it’s fine when she turns to me, her face surprised with guilt hidden behind it and says,” Oh Honey, it’s your birthday! I totally knew all along!” And I’ll act like she did, knowing though, that my sister told her.

Hahahahahah that’s funny because it’s like a muse caused me misery! i’m so clever. Clever lever. Like tucker rocky.

  10. To amuse; how/ what is funny to one person may upset or anger another. Humour is very personal, and interestingly, doesn’t cross national boundaries unless you know the language.

  11. The amusement must have been plain on her face because her friend suddenly scowled at her with a glare that could kill rhinos. “Sorry!” she apologized quickly. “It wasn’t funny…just…um.”
“Oh, come off it,” her friend snapped. “You’ve always loved seeing me embarrassed.”
    “That’s not true.”

  12. Amuse. I remember I took a cartooning class once, and the teacher said there had to be a purpose to our cartoons. Maybe it was a political cartoon. Or a religious one. Maybe it was to benefit and promote a certain cause or business.

But if you couldn’t think of a purpose, then you had to write down A-MUSE. I resented that A-MUSE. He made it seem like if your only purpose was to A-MUSE, you weren’t good enough. Thanks.

  13. Glee filled the eye of the crazed maniac. He got a knife and slowly removed the fingers of a clerk. Screams of terror were heard throughout the store, but he came with his friends from the asylum. They skinner the staff for wearing white and gouged the eyes of those who wear black. What a happy place for the crazed maniac.

  14. amuse brings a little smile to my face. I wasn’t expecting a verb. The minute I saw the word I split it into two: as muse. You need a muse to write. I think that way of seeing it as two words suited me better. That was what I wanted it to be… sometimes you have to accept things as they are.

    “We are not amused….”

    Amusement park.

I’ve always had dreams about amusement parks. When I was young they were dark dreams. Funhouses mostly. I don’t have as many of those darker dreams nowadays, but I dream about amusement parks very often.

Lots of times it’s about Disney. – Except it’s not Disney. But in the dream it is. And sometimes it happens to be one that’s close by and open seasonally. Why it’s specifically Disney in those cases and not just any o’le amusement park I’m not sure. Sometimes there are water parks next door too which I’m always trying to figure out how to fit in. Very often there’s something about a main roller coaster I want to go on, but as with the real Disney, the park is large, some lines are long, meeting up with people is complicated, and there never seems to be enough time to get everything in when and how I’d like.

Sometimes I’m there when the park opens and there aren’t many people yet. Sometimes I “remember” about the park late in the day and wonder if it’s worth it to go for a couple of hours before the park closes… will I get enough done in that short time to justify the cost of the ticket… is even that little bit better than nothing…. will it be a waste of time and money for only a few hours since – with walking, and lines and all – I’ll probably only get to do ONE ride before closing.

Time management, theme parks, and getting everything in I want to do seem to be the common themes in these dreams. And a longing of some kind. Wanting to be able to fit in what I want “this time” and not leaving feeling like I’ve missed out on what I really wanted to do most, again.

  23. The little girl pouted her small, rosy lips as she rubbed her sore knees. “what did you do that for?” she yelled at the boy with shining blonde hair standing before her. “Because I can and I think you’re ugly!” he smirked, amusement shown in his eyes. “That’s not very nice, you can’t just push people down to the ground like that!” The little girl said pushing herself off the ground and wiping the imaginary dirt off her shoulders. “I just said I can. Your yelling amuses me.” The little boy smirked and ran away.
