It’s impossible not to find oneself in the position of an ant. The world is a garbage dump festered with insects, mostly roaches. we are not so different.
The ants go marching two by two hurrah. That was the first thing that came to mind. Hormigear–the Spanish verb for the tingling when your arm falls asleep and then wakes up. Like ants. To become like an ant–the translation in one language for the incarnation.
TINY LITTLE DOTS, CRAWLING ACROSS MY TEACUP AND SAUCER, I FLICKED THEM AWAY IDLY AS WE TALKED, DISMANTLING OUR LIVES TOGETHER, DISMANTLING THE ANTS. HE GOT ANGRY ABOUT MY FLICKING THEM AWAY, HE ALWAYS USED TO GET ANGRY ABOUT THE SMALL THINGS IN LIFE. ANTS CRAWLING AWAY FROM US NOW, LEAVING THE ANGRY WORDS BEHIND, SHOULD I BE FOLLOWING THEM OR SHOULD I STAY AND KEEP FLICKING?
you’ve got ants in your pants. that’s what my mum used to say to me when I couldn’t sit still. that’s what i say to my son when he’s bouncing all over the sofa and off the walls. i don’t know where he gets the energy from. always on the move. arms and legs going in all directions. reminds me of a daddy longlegs.
I love to watch ants. They works so hard and have their own little communities that seem to function so well together. Humans could take a tip from them.
However, I am not fond of having them come into my house. I think they are best to stay outside. I would even be happy to give them a cookie or two occasionally.
This is small but mighty. They work together unconcerned about others or what anyone thinks. They can move mountains and span valleys together ONLY. I aspire to be an ant.
An ant crawled along the floor. It vibrated at my footsteps. It’s body was tiny, but the way it behaved epitomised the way we do. Humans never quite realise how alike animals and themselves are. But who am I to think I can change it?
We once tried to build our own ant farm. We knocked together some old pieces of wood and stuck some glass in between. I’m not sure where we found all the stuff, but it was a pretty good job for a bunch of 11-year-olds. Then we went out to round up the biggest ants we could find so they couldn’t escape. Of course, the biggest ones we found ended up being carpenter ants, so…
an ant, something that seems insignificant until there are 500 of them in your house. then, they seem a little more threatening. many things in life start and end like the ant. it is hard to write today. but i keep going until the gong sounds.
The ant practiced swooning his girl ant-friend with a super-jive cool walk. He knew where a hidden stack of crackers was near a large kitchen closet too. A perfect first date.
I saw an ant running down the hill and thought to myself, “oh to be an ant.” What would a typical day be like for an ant. Does he/she have feelings, emotions, questions or desires? I always thought the world weighed upon my shoulders, but doesn’t an ant have so much more to worry about and think on?
ants are one of the most amazing creatures that i have ever seen. They work in teams. their ability to carry 300 times more than their own weight on their back is incredible.
They marched along, all dressed in black, like a line of worker ants headed back to their hill. Watching from above, the grey cloaked man smirked at their helplessness. Finally, he had control.
She looked down. Was that an ant crawling its way up the white edge of her sock towards a skin. She reached down to brush it off, and it jumped up to her calf. She yelp, and ran for the tub. ‘Not this again’ she thought as she ran the water. ‘Anything but fleas.’
Ants in the ant-hills, living in the foothills, all of us down at heel. Aren’t we all ants on this little spek of soil? What makes you think you’re the most important ant in the house?
Ant? Ant as a oneword prompt? This definitely made my morning…no honestly this is unexpected. Ants have been a nightmare for me ever since I was little. Freaking taking over Caprisuns and crumbs on the floor. Luckily we had an exterminator…what an experience.
as i look at the towering buildings
i realize i am nothing more than the ants
scurrying beneath my feet
i realize that even though i am much greater in size than they
we are the same in some way
there are many things bigger than me
like there are many things bigger than them
so i feel bad as i remember
how awful i am to them
The tiny creature scurried across the ground, it’s disgustingly black feelers groping the earth in front of it as it hunted for something of nutrients. Finally the ant stumbled across a moldy crumb – as good a breakfast as any – and hauled it onto its insect back.
The ant crawled slowly across the room oblivious to the gaze of the prowling cat. The cat was hundry and wasnot going to let the opportunity of a sumptuous meal pass by.
a small bug that is usually seen outside sometimes they go inside they can be black and red the red ants are fire ants the black ants are just ants that don’t bite
I used to kill ants upon the sight of them. Then I became a Buddhist. I have come to believe that no creature, even an ant, should be killed, especially with no purpose for it. I used to be an after school care worker and I would get very peeved at the kids for killing ants…Every thing deserves to live.
the ant crawled across the table and I wondered why it ate so diligently if all it ever did was feed the queen. it would live and die and feed and fuck at her will. but i suppose there is some peace to that, i mean he had no decisions to make, no life-changing opportunities. he just did what his greedy overlord asked of him and that is all.
I feel so pressured, like an ant carrying the biggest leaf in the pile. With college applications due soon, not to mention the transcript relse form and fees…. It’s like the world is hovering over me. But I am not Atlas, and I cannot carry this myself alone. Thank the good Lord for me dearest of friends and truest of companions. For without them, I would crush under the mighty weight of these deadlines.
I knew someone who had a competition with her friend to see who could buy each other’s kids the most obnoxious gift. My friend thought she had a clear win when she bought her friend’s kids a drum set. Her friend bought her kids an ant farm. – Her friend won.
Look at that small creature ant, it never stops, even if you try to put some obstacles in her way, this creature will change her path and take a different turn.Try it. Its true, here we should learn something .

At the start, we all think that we are just tiny little ants.
But we all are actually.
But together as one, we can defeat even the wildest predator.
