The sky is a hazy grey and I walk the line between buildings, letting the wind creep inside of my jacket and touch me like hands I vaguely remember. The trees are on fire and I think I’d like to sit under them for awhile, just still my toes go numb.
Darkness. the streets I roam are empty. There is no one there but the beating of my heart, and even that is fading away. I always wandered about this time of year. How badly, and easily it affects me. I fear it. And yet, it is beautiful.
Autumn is falling. I use the word “autumny” for my hair. It’s curly, and somewhere betweeen blonde and orange and red – my husband calls me paprika. I use autumny, because it’s the exact color of the falling oak leaves from the old tree in my backyard.

autumn winds bring despair of winter chills
as beauty reaches its peak right before it says good bye
red yellow orange all heart felt warm colors
swiriling around and about
goodbye summer love
till we meet again
until then let’s watch autumn say goodbye
As she skipped down the gravel driveway she could hear the autumn leaves crunching beneath her feet. Though she knew her happiness would not last for long she fought the urge to be upset and kept skipping. As she got closer and closer to the house she found it harder to hear the autumn leaves under her feet as her thoughts kept creeping up on her and drowning everything else out.
how I miss the autumn…
the beautiful colors splashed across the leaves as the trees become as expressive as art
the brusque wind swirling around me as I walk outside
when it’s cool enough to cuddle into my blankets and sit by a fire
ah to be home with the autumn…
another word for Fall, leaves changing colors, leaves on the ground, a name for a girl, comes after summer, decay, dead matter, red, orange, yellow, maple trees, beautiful photo opps, wedding season ending, school starts, end of summer holidays, rebirth
The time of the year. Red apples. Orange leaves like the burning sun in a cold fresh air. The smell of change all around. I change with the seasons. Keep me warm.
leaves spiral down to the ground, readying to freeze over for the coming winter. The world changes, and i change with it. I look and see the reds and yellows that were once green and vibrant. I see my self reflected in them and wonder where the time has gone.
I love the autumn. It is refreshing and invigorating. I think of trees bare and beautiful, full of life with leaves dancing about, falling to the ground, beautiful reds and corals and yellows. I think of walks with my children and dogs, a gentle breeze in my face.
The leaves fell in a hue of orange red and gold. i beamed at the beauty of living fire. Nothing burned but the presence of heat was there in the chilled air.
Red apples rolling off the tree.
Orange leaves like the burning sun.
The winter is coming
I am so cold
but you hold my hand
you keep me warm
through my coldest nights
Here in the vastness of a land called Morningstar there is a season called Autumn during this time leaves dance with color and blend with the night to make the heavens sing.
in autumn the leaves are brown and yellow and red. it smells like trees and rain. it feels like you should live in the country side and be wholesome and have hobbies. Artists paint about autumn, authors write about this beautiful time of year.
I feel like this autumn, I have made the most memories ever. So many trips to apple orchards, lots and lots of football…the World Series…watching Inception..=]
A terrible terrible season, in which the blissful ignorance of summer fades. Of course summer was doomed to end but we chose not to think about that. Now, as life begins to die and the weather makes us sad, some sadistic people actually find beauty in this terrible time of year. Maybe it’s the poetry behind death that they’re attracted to.
Nothing good ever happens in Autumn. Nothing bad ever happens in Autumn. Autumn is, simply put, a time of change. The colors change. My heart changes. Every September, every October, every November, I am in a constant state of change. Nothing can stop it. Nothing can hold it back. My very spirit changes colors like the leaves do, from a vibrant green to a golden yellow to a blood, blood red.
Autumn is a time of happiness and sometimes sadness. Happiness in a way the winter is over and summer has begun. Sadness, with some people still living in the cold, that is their life, and nothing has changed but the leaves on the trees.

The Autumn breeze
Doeth whisk away
(In gentle whispers in the wind)
The troubles that
The Spring may bring
(Which Summer’s Kiss did not remiss)
The Falling leaves,
The browning green,
Tre scales of troubles that we shed
When Winter’s blanket
Fast approaches–
And Phoenix years
Are birthed anew.

It’s cliche
A different word would better suit
The color that illuminates
In your golden green eyes.
I could think of something
More lovely that a dry leaf
and more moving than a cold breeze
To explain the splendor of your eyes
But autumn will do.

In Autumn, I’m reminded of a truth,
as the leaves are torn from branches,
as the temperatures drop to first frost levels,
I’m reminded of a truth.
We are each nothing to the Earth,
And she is everything to us.

breezy cool, rainy
leaves down, colors depleting
