I stared up at the skyline, in awe of the sights around me. Every one of them had a story to tell. A small start-up, an architect’s first realized dream, a home.
buildings are really tall. They are commonly made of glass. i took an architecture class and we talked about buildings postmodern and modern buildings specifically. there’s something classy about a modern building with the glass and steel, like a pinstripe suit or a chilled martini with fog on the outside of the glass.
some times i like to stare up at the buildings i wonder how they got there. i wonder who put them there and how much longer they will be standing there. i think it is amazing to relate them to my own life. the struggles of putting it up and what will bring it back down. it is something we all mucs experience
I can’t go past certain buildings without thinking of memories. memories that happened in around or near that building. For example: my ex-boyfriend, DJ Tice, lives in this old house just outside of downtown *city name here*, whenever I go past it i remember all the times i walked there with him at lunch and all the stupidly fun times we’ve had at his house. It’s sort of sad, you know? Seeing what once was, and knowing it can never be that again. Or at least not the same as it was.
There are looming skyscrapers all densely packed. They tower above me, almost ominous yet powerful. I feel small next to them, yet not insignificant. I wonder who is up there, whether someone is looking at me as well. What are they thinking of?
Architects have a very difficult job. Not only do they have to be good at math and drafting, but they also have to be creative. Although, creativity doesn’t necessarily mean a building will actually look good.
Tower and plague and shadows make the sky turn dark. Built from the ground up like trees on an island – and sometimes they are. They are the new trees, metal trees with glass leaves. What a concept.
buldings are an amazing invention wouldnt you say so yourself? they fly so high above the ground, its a place we should not be and yet we go to. its unimaginable to the human mind to think about how these monstrasities with stand all of our horrible acts.
i see the buildings in the distance. i long to visit the bustling city, possibly even call it my own. make it my home. but, for now, im stuck in this small town, with these big dreams, and no way to accomplish them. only a hope, and an action on a whim.
Buildings, like colossi all around me! They are tall and magnificent, seemingly indestructible man-made giants that sometimes bore the living hell out of me.
One, two, three, hundreds of unnecessary buildings. When will they ever learn that going up doesn’t mean that we have more space or used our resources more wisely? Old…what a beautiful thing.
Buildings can hold many things. This one happened to be Professor Crane’s office. Run down and old, there were cobwebs in every corner, and broken glass around most of the windows, as if people had jumped out in terror. Perhaps that was true. Crane liked the building just they way it was.
The words ‘one word’ make me think about everything… I could write whatever I feel like writing, and I’m choosing to write about nothing. I wish I could think of meaningful words to write down, but nothing comes to mind. I wish I could show someone that I care about them just by writing the beautiful words that flow through my head. But alas, I cannot even type them out to myself…
There are a lot of different buildings in the world. Some are very extravagant and some just plain simple. I’m not really too sure whats the tallest building.
Buildings remind me of today’s episode of How I Met Your Mother. Ted is an architect, and he sees pretty things in buildings. I like big buildings and they’re grand, like the ones on campus. VLSB, Berkeley is pretty in general.
Without air and sky it was easy to feel that inside these buildings there was no escape. A wall of plants trailed to the floor with water pooling from the hanging leaves.
Buildings are quite large sometimes. You could easily throw yourself from one and die a horrible yet flightful death. 9/11 depicts this quite well, as people would rather fly off a building than burn inside of it.
The largest building in the world is the Al Burj.
I just wrote about buildings earlier on this website. Which makes me wonder if this is a daily only thing. I will add to my previous post, that “flying” isn’t necessarily the best word to use in conjuration to the 9/11 attacks.
buildings on both sides of the road blocked the sun of his head as he walked alone on that Sunday morning, he had no idea where he was going, he had no idea where to go, but he knew he had to leave, even if he ended up somewhere he does not want at least he wont be there while became someone he does not recognize.
Buildings? I have to say that some of these daily words are completely rubbish. Unless you’re an architect or a builder or something I can’t think that you’d have any real interest…Apart from living in one I couldn’t care less about buildings.
At san jose state university, there are many buildings and colleges on campus. The justice studies department is in the Macquarrie Hall Building. It is five floors tall and recently has a new cafeteria.
When I think of a building, I think of the Empire Building in downtown Edmonton. Where I work. I work at a Starbucks. It’s busy. Bah. I don’t want to talk about it.
they are tall and have many windows somtimes. they usually have a reason for their being. either an office or a living space for someone. they can come in all shapes and sizes and can be made from multiple differnt types of materials. they also come ine different colors.
swallow me whole,
gray, reflective tower-
shower me with a dream
that I’ll ascend stairs &
split hairs & cascade
down your futuristic plain;
is this a smile or some twisted
smirk when I glare into your
first floor & see my own life
staring back; paper walls
tacked w/ facades of
personality next to
never-ending phonelines
& this is what i’m striving to be?
I like to walk along the street and stare up at them, the little old fashioned ones, the towering modern ones. I like the hanging baskets, the cute lattice windows, the flowers.
Hm. Buildings. There’s literally nothing that pops into my head, when I see the word buildings. Maybe only the building that I currently live in. And the buildings that I WANT to live in.
Dr. Lime loved tall buildings. He made sure that each of his lairs included a tower, so that he could stand at the top, and view the beautiful green-ness that was a lime orchard.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this.
He wasn’t supposed to be like this.
Wasn’t he supposed to be a hero?
His fingers grasp futilely at the pavement, streaking red in the paths of his fingers.
