  8. I never wanted to be a Pokemon trainer. I wasn’t one of those people who needed to be somebody; I didn’t need to prove myself. The world wasn’t mine to explore and see, its mysteries lain out for me to uncover. I was, honestly, quite content to stay in my small town and live my life out there without once battling a gym leader, or taking on the Elite Four. Even now, after the myriads of things I’ve done, I still think I would have been happy living without ever really living.

So no, this isn’t a story about the great, amazing trainer that rose up from nowhere and became the new Pokemon Champion. It isn’t a story about some passionate hero who took down Team Rocket, for the good of all of Johto.

No. This is quite simply and at its very core, a story about a trainer that was catapulted into a world he never wanted to be a part of, all for the sake of love. When all is said and done, this is just another love story.
