  1. i hate god. i hate church. i hate rules and racism and war and everything that tears people apart. i hate the hate that the church brews.

  2. It was sunday and we were supposed to go to the catherdral and I loved to go to church because my friend was always there. The cathedral was closed for repairs. We had to go to a different church, it was a different kind of religion. I sat in the service because I didnt know anyone in the class.

  3. A young woman enters a cathedral, and is stopped by a priest. “Why have you come in today, child?” he asks her. “I can’t stop dreaming of demons. Every night I wake up in a terrible sweat plagued with the images of the damned in my head.” She shudders at the thought of seeing them again in her waking mind.

  6. Full of awe, cold stones, cold hearts, and irony, they stand as a testimony of too many things:

Of man’s ability to build upward, but not inward.

  7. i have no idea how to describe this very first word. all I remember that there’s a cathedral in Gambir, Jakarta. I forgot the name by the way. everytime I hear this word, I will imagine a big and such an elegant church. it’s a place for christian to pray…

  8. The cathedral made a fool of him. Every time he walked past it, he remembered how it felt to be standing there waiting and waiting for the bride who never showed up. He never blamed Henrietta, though. He always blamed that damn cathedral.

  11. It was a really tall one. They say the tallest one in the world! And it was calling me in. I really didn’t like it. And why should I? But I just couldn’t resist. So I went in. It was dark and a little creepy, like most of those building are, but somehow peaceful. The round window was the most beautiful thing I have seen in a while and the Rose, that it was, mas not red. I liked that. I hate red roses. In fact, I hate roses. But that picture was the thing calling me. So, I went up the stairs, leading to the watchtower, hoping to come closer to the calling, but it was getting weaker, not stronger. So I went down again. And then, it just stopped. No calling, no nothing. I just stood there, with not a single word in my head.

  12. There was a choir practicing somewhere in the upper levels. The organ was blaring all over the cathedral. John felt awkward for every step he took. The sound echoed all over the church, adding the creepiness of the mood. Sherlock’s figure was peering at the altar and under some chairs. This is where Sherlock dragged John for a case he was going on about for a few weeks yet John couldn’t remember what it was; it wasn’t worth blogging about anyway. ((-_- so tired…))

  13. Burnished columns soared above lewis’ head. the air stirred with motes of dust, seen through the angles sunbeams shining through stain glass windows. But his attention was on the puddle of red slowly spreading from his fathers prone body.

  14. The cathedral stood on the outskirts of the city, like a proud parent, watching over everything. It had long since fallen into disrepair, it’s marble arches cracked and broken, it’s once splendid paint work faded and rotten.

  15. Holy place for christian community! A place of worship and great religious importance for christians. The famous cathedral, St. Basillica is located in Italy.

  16. It was on this cathedral that I was forced to stroke that disgusting penis. That big fat ugly penis when he kept thrusting in my throat. He kept yelling Jesus is my savior

    by Fatalist on 06.15.2012
  17. The cathedral was tall, a pillar of gloom against the cold sky. It was all very cliched, gothic. Cathedrals are like that when they’re pitted against a backdrop of a dreary day, and all I could think was, “this would be my life.” I couldn’t believe I was left to wander around this sleepy little hamlet all by myself on a day like this.

  18. I see it as the train zooms by and I remember.

I remember walking into the grand building, in awe.

I remember singing in the pews, dressed in white with a tiny veil.

I remember standing there in red, my grandmother beside me.

I remember feeling lost as I sang my heart out, not knowing if I could really believe in what I was participating in.

I remember and I turn back to my book, letting the memories of twenty years in that building fade away as I finish the sentence and gather my things. It’s time to go now.

  19. Walking to the Roman Cathedral, I could feel the wind blowing through my hair. For once I was actually feeling good about myself. Why is it that this must happen to me?

  20. I looked up and felt small and elated at the same time. Religion didn’t even come into it. I was mesmerized that people managed to build something like this with the meager means they had, but with a lot of determination.

  21. She opened the tall long doors, peering inside into the unknown. Everything within those slender frames seemed murky and untouched by time. She crept in, her lips feeling the thick air. She could practically feel the enticing nature of the room.

  22. the cathedral stood tall among the other buildings that i saw when I visit the country of my mother,s birth. all that I can remember is a slender object in the sky.

  23. I used to be a religious kid (i’m talking 5) , very religious as i recall. I loved going to church every sunday. But the only thing i ever actually remember liking about it was the cathedral. Funnily enough I hated what religion was and how hypocritical it was.It never made sense to me… but God damn was the cathedral beautiful.

  24. The town boasted the most imaculate cathedral ever known to man. It stood erected in the center of the town, standing 10 miles high. It was made entirely out of stainedglass. A sight to behold.

  26. A place of worship, where a huge sum of population go to get a feeling of the existence of a higher presence. The endeavor to get a numinous feeling! The high ceilings and artistic walls depicting a creator. A leader of all minkind.

    by avy on 06.15.2012
  27. architecture makes you think of space and makes me feel peaceful and calm, that feeling of numinous not necessarily god but something greater tan me, it makes me reflective and i just see myself as insignificant in a good way but just in the wake of space, of something bigger than us, out there… i think its the dome and the detailed decoration, its the perfect mix of big and small engaging you in your surroundings, i dont think you could ever get bored in a cathedral because as soon as you stop seeing the empirical stuff you start looking inside yourself, into your imagination. they are beautiful places that dont necessarily need to be religious, their just there to remind you that their is beauty and more to life.

    by Charlie on 06.15.2012
  32. The cathedral cast its shadow over their faith like a gravestone, marking the resting place of what once was a proud religion. Now all that remained was its corpse, rotten with the decay of hypocrisy and buried beneath a mound of denial.

  33. I walked into the catedral, and I knew.

Church. obsolete. bigotry. dogmatic. opinionated. doctrinaire. world revolves around the earth. good on the eyes. incredulous stories.

  36. A big church where you can worship God. It is part of the roman catholic religion and can also cause a town to become known as a city. There is one in Winchester, and there is a really nice one in Paris called Notre Dame. The architecture is stunning and the gargoyles are nice.

    by Benjamin Lancaster-Nogueira on 06.15.2012
  37. “I told you – you cannot catch me!! I am way too fast for you .. ” she turned around laughing, delicately moving to the music only she could hear.

The halls of the cathedral were too narrow to shelter her soul there.
He knew she was right.. He could catch her while her soul was madly racing…

    “Find me….”

    And she was gone….

  39. The Cathedral looked silent and abondeded, but also welcoming, in here Mel knew she would find peace. James had always thought her silly for her interest in religion, he wouldn’t understand how Mel had “found” herself here

  40. There was once this beautiful, old cathedral that was used for several centuries for worship. but in modern day, there was no use for this place of worship considering that religion has been a thing of the past and those who openly claim to be a member of a religion was put to death.
