I covered him with my body, but it felt like no use to these ruthless soldiers. I promised my mom I’d try to protect him when she died, but every day, it seems like I’m going to break that promise. After there had been minimal sounds for about an hour, I stood up and looked around. Lots of blood, ruins, bodies, and destruction. Like usual. There were a few people alive, cowering, but no soldiers it seems. One more day alive. The rest of our lives to go.
