  1. photography has really changed an art form. What used to be a real skill set – the manipulation of light and frame and color – can now be accomplished by a skilled computer program. This produces better photos, but have we lost something of value in losing the art?

  2. Thermometers are awesome when digital. Especially when they don’t take hours and hours. However, they’re also less accurate. Similarly, blood pressures are better when they’re manual as opposed to automatic with digital readings. Simpler to read the numbers, sure, but certainly not as accurate when you’re depending on a machine to listen to a pulse for you.

  8. Like my watch. Technologicalized, anatomical, robot, computer. People think digital thinks will take over one day, and I think too much digital can be bad. But mostly I like my watch because it’s really convenient and makes me really lazy. Digital stuff makes humans lazy. It has the word “git” in it.

  10. Everything has to be digital now for kids to understand. This generation doesn’t understand anything without a LCD screen, loud sounds, and constant motion. The idea that phones use to have cords or TVS and computers were the size of small cars. Everything is digtil. Even books. Whatever happened to the world I knew growing up?

  14. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be a robot. Digital, metal and plastic and artificial fingers and toes. Would my thoughts be digital too? And what about my feelings? Can a robot have a digital soul?
    If I didn’t know better, I’d say sage-girl was digital too.

Each day she stared at the photos on her camera. then she uploaded them, printed them and after a year of collecting them, she took them all and tossed them in a barrel and lit them on fire, watching the memories burning away.   27. I think those of us in western society have to consider how much time we spend living in a digital world and how much time we spend in the real world. It might be a good idea to actually keep a physical log. It is my hypothesis that those who spend more time in the digital realm open themselves up to psychological disturbances, for social stimulation in the digital world reinforces habits that tear us further away from reality, and having misconceptions and detachments from reality will ultimately result in a failure in ones ability to make social connections in the physical world. This leads to failure in the workplace and to depression.

  28. when i was 7 years old my mom got me a digital watch for my birthday. If you pressed a button on this watch, a lady’s robot voice would read out the time of day to you. After about an hour of my continual pressing of this button, it infuriated me and i proceeded to bash the digital watch against my bathtub until it shattered into fragments and was unable to read the time to me ever again.

  31. we live in such a digital age.. nothing is even in print anymore. books? nope. does anyone even know what an address book is anymore? or how to look up a number in a phone book? probably not. they say were advancing in technology, and sure, we are. but dont you ever miss the pages of an old book, of a journal, in your lap? that feeling isnt something we can download or get digitally. it just isnt.

What happened to the good times, the times where we actually talked to people face to face, printed out pictures, and listened to CD’s. I miss the days of social interaction. Digital, everything. The world is so digital.
