with jessie,i couldn’t always easily divide love from sex.sure, she was an unresponsive aphrodite, but I knew it was nothing personal.when we shared an apartment,a foreign legend of men paraded in and out of her bedroom,to nary a sound.but i enjoyed her touch, her smell and her taste…the way she silently arched her back
I can’t find the simple divide between friendship and love. When does the small affection we have for our friends become more and how are we so certain that the love we feel for our spouse is true?
I will divide my heart and give one half to you. May I have half of yours? Oh, but it’s not fair to have a heart and a half! Mine is already overflowing as it is.
And suddenly, he cleaved the sky into parts, and it splintered like china. They didn’t know what to do, and watched as the sky scattered around them in pieces. So they picked them up and pocketed them, melted them down into liquid, and created a wide, blue, blue ocean…
Divide… im not too sure what to write actually. Divide. doesnt have much meaning to me but it defines the world we live in. our world is full of divisions some good some bad. But unfortunately the world is what it is.
Cellular organisms often divide into two separate organisms. Why do they do this? Because to be one with oneself one must become two. To demonstrate this point, consider the riddle of the human placenta. Why is it so purple? Because many years ago laughter was outlawed in Toledo, Ohio, and that’s what it gets you.
The light coming in from outside divides the room into shadow and unblinking brilliance like a lobotomy knife wielded by the master surgeon who wrote the book on schizophrenia before he died at his own hands in the rainy darkness of a stone border.
seperation between emotions, thoughts, ideas or people. breaking apart one thing to make it into a million smaller pieces just so in can be handed out to everyone else. Pieces are nothing unless returned to a while. D
For a moment, I sighed, put the ax down, and took a break. It was a beautiful autumn day, and I’d been splitting logs in half for most of it. The leaves fluttering downward from the branches above had blanketed the ground in a crisp, orange layer that I laid down on, watching the amorphous clouds endlessly shift and reform themselves.
There is a great divide going on in this Country right now. It’s between the sane, rational people and the insane, irrational people. I’m actually more scared for the future now than I was after 9/11. Someone hold me.
i can fly but unfortunately i cant get my self to, i can jump off this cliff and not even hope for the best, i can do it all but i am divided from the inside, a part of me wants to trust you, the other part is broken.
The great divide: gender. Or is it? A lot of the things we attribute to chromosomes is really just conditioned behavior. Ever stood in the pink aisle of a toy store, and just soaked in the pretty? Tell me that isn’t indoctrination.
Divide and conquer—is that what my teenager is trying to do to my husband and me? It sure feels like it sometimes—and it can be so hard to show a united front. But that’s exactly what we need to do to survive.
I stood awkwardly next to him. We attempted to make conversation, but we had drifted too far apart. It was almost like I was on one side of a ravine and he was on the other. I missed him, even though he was less than 3 feet away.
separate, alone, without you. we were two hands, in one hold-handing motion; we were two hearts, in one relationship. the great divide. i am now one person, two empty hands, an empty heart.
Books in rows with speckled spines, crooked perhaps, and all with missing pages; they are now scattered all across the mahogany floorboards which grace the deep divide between your feet and mine.
Most issues aren’t clearly divided into black and white. Politics, among other aspects of human behavior, would be so much smoother if people could see the gray.
I find myself at odds with the standards my world has tried to set for me: finish school, go to college, get a job, find a man, get married, have kids, be content. Why do I have to fit in? Do I really have to follow every step and try to be like everyone else. There’s a line that I’m not supposed to cross but this imaginary line in the sand only divides us. Let me breathe for once, let me be my own person. Why be stuck in a job straight out college, pressured to find a good enough when I can go to Africa and spend my time wisely, unafraid of what people will think of me and saving the world.
I divide my time efficiently throughout the day, dedicating enough time for work, play and other things that I need to accomplish; sometimes though it doesn’t work out that way. Unexpected things get in the way and what I started out in the day deciding I would do is pushed toward the end and not completed.
i am thinking about u.s. politics how about so many politicians want to divide and conquer. think tea party, right wing christian leaders. they point to others and never to themselves, never see room for improvement. instead of divide, we need to multiply love/forgiveness/acceptance…
Nothing divides us. Sometimes we feel apart. Our hate, our love, or differences, our similarities. Hard to tell the difference. Now though, a night of light, sound, and unity.
There was an incredible divide between the groups. One worshipped a God who was made of ham, and another worshipped a God made of rice pudding. They argued over who was tastier, and bombed each other because they insisted they preferred ham/ rice pudding.
it is sad in this world today how people are so divided. there are so many division with people and races and groups. black, white, short, tall, fat, skinny, ugly, pretty. we do not have to live with division on earth. we can interupt the cycle we are in and live in a division free world. we just gotta take it one step at a time. We can control this, we can defeat it.
Divide is a word that when I type it I dont look at the keyoard so that when I mess up myu sopelling I jyst kinda go with it even though Im lost on the keybnoard…
Carl divided the money. He gave Phil ten grand and kept fifteen for himself. “Why do you get more?” Phil asked. “Because I put this plan together.” “That’s bullshit.” “Get over it, Phil. That’s the way it is.” “No, it ain’t.” Phil pulled a revolver from his pants and shot Carl in the chest.
I thought nothing could divide us; we were best friends. We had so much in common — we still do. I didn’t count on inertia. You stopped calling, and I had too much pride to pursue. Inertia and Pride conquered us.
